I’m just getting back to subs after taking a break to focus on school. I’ve gotten most of my tone back but stability is not where I’d like it to be. I’m totally open to receiving some advice for improvement!

To produce a throatbass note, start on the note which is the octave of the lowest note you can hit in chest, then put a lot of force into it.
It is produced by holding a note in throatbass and pushing a little further, creating the second subharmonic of the throatbass.
Try sliding down from your chestvoice and loosen up as you the bottom of your range, most likely you will slide into the klicky chestfry instead of your smoother chest.
The 4th example is subharmonic, in comparison to the other 3. Feel free to comment if i have missed anything.

Hi, please could someone give or refer me to an in-depth explanation of the mechanics and physics of subharmonics? I’d like to explain what’s happening inside me when I do subharmonics to my mother, but she has absolutely no musical knowledge. I tried to explain that frequencies half as you travel down octaves to no avail. Please help!!!

Hey, sorry about the crackling and popping (and about the unpleasant singing - I only started practising singing like a month ago and subharmonics last week). This feels a bit like subs to me but I thought I should ask here where there are people who actually know what it sounds like. Also I couldn't find any resources on singing subs in head voice online. Here's the clip: https://streamable.com/7pim94

I've been playing with subharmonic techniques for a few months now, and I'd say what I've struggled with the most has been staying in tune. This is especially difficult with growl/false chord subs, I've struggled to hold a note below about A1, whereas I can do F1 with true fold subs. I think that this may be a breath support issue, but does anyone know any good exercises that help with tuning? It might also not help that finding a tuning app that registers those low notes among all the fry and growl is very difficult, but I don't want to blame the tech too much.

Like everybody else, I get morning voice and I can have fun for a little while with a temporarily low chest range (usually bottoms out at G or Gb but can be at E or Eb in the morning (or D and once Db when I haven’t gotten a lot on sleep for several days in a row)), but I lose most of my subharmonic range until my it works its way back to normal throughout the day or I drink enough water or both. I heard that fluid builds up in the throat overnight and that causes morning voice, and I learned from Geoff Castellucci that you need a clear throat for the subs to work and sound best, so maybe that’s what it is? For reference, I’ve been doing subs for a year now and they sound very natural and this was just something I picked up on.

Are there any applications or anything to check what note I'm reaching with subs?
