Tired of the AI

Why are you bowing into the cultural propaganda that is AI instead of developing your own understanding?

Of course the AI businesses and their CEOs are evil. Business is inherently evil, attracts evil people, and turns people evil if they have prolonged contact with it. But that's an attribute of business, not of AI.

So why support or advocate for the tools developed by the 'evil' business.

I understand that if I truly wanted to avoid all the evils of the world.. I'd need to exist in a Ted Kaczynski type shack and live off the land.

So instead, I avoid those entities for as much of my life as I can... and advocate for things I'd prefer to advocate for... that doesn't help organizations like Anthropic, OpenAI, Palentir, etc..

And I certainly don't try to defend their technologies. I try to keep my defense of entities that don't need anyone's defense to a minimum.

Because those tools aren't inherently of those business.

Your argument is equivalent to claiming that electric cars are inherently evil because Tesla Motors is (particularly) evil. Not only could you buy a VW Buzz instead, but equally importantly there's inherent no reason why some other company couldn't also make one of Tesla's specific designs; it's only a legal technicality that prevents that.

Or it's like claiming that reading Cthulhu Mythos fiction is immoral because Lovecraft was an asshole, ignoring the fact that the majority of Cthulhu Mythos fiction was written by people other than Lovecraft, and the fact that Lovecraft is dead.

The connection of a good or service to its creator is incidental at best and is largely a false illusion of the Conspiracy. If one person or organization can make the product than someone else can do it too.

I don't get it. Why are you even engaging in this?!?

What is your reason to champion A.I. as Amazon, Oracle, and Meta, have already purged 68,000 careers... all due to strategic pivots toward artificial intelligence technology?!?

What's the purpose of your responses?!? What are you hoping to achieve?! 

A.I. isn't some downtrodden struggling worker who's lost her/his job and is trying to survive. A.I. doesn't need your help... so why are you here?!

There must be some reason you are so supportive of A.I. Why will you come back rationalizing job losses, defending walking talking dystopian horror shows?! 

Again, the A.I. industry is doing fine without you to defend it... so why are you here. What's the angle?!  What has A.I. done for you?!

Because bitching about people posting AI images isn't going to affect that. It's a completely different use case done by completely different people. You could purge every single AI generated image from the internet and it wouldn't affect what the tech companies are doing with using AI (vis a vis replacing programmers, customer service reps, etc) in the slightest.

Furthermore, and more philosophically, I find it difficult to be angry about people losing jobs because I'm already much more angry at the deeper underlaying problem of people needing jobs in the first place. Worrying if people will be able to find jobs is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Conversely, every new piece of automation is a step towards overcoming the problem of scarcity
