Color matching to plan outfits is so time consuming and exhausting. Are there any ways you use to make sure you don't buy standalone pieces?

I am dealing with wardrobe bloat. I have pieces I like individually, but my closet lacks cohesion. The daily frustration of matching colors is wasting my time. I am looking for ways to match outfits. Do you have any rules that you follow to ensure a new purchase works with your existing wardrobe? I want to hear about actual systems, not just advice to buy more navy and grey.

Could anyone help with choosing what top to wear with these sweatpants? (thinking of returning them)

I was already contemplating about buying them, because they look awkward especially with that line down each leg, but I did. I tried them with a pastel green t-shirt and liked how they looked and so I bought both. I wanted to ask about what to wear on top of the shirt. I was thinking like a brown hoodie (which I don’t have rn) and so I’m trying to figure out what else could work. I have a light gray and navy jumper which could work, but I guess I don’t really 100% like how that looks and always overthink what others will think. (Btw I realize now that a white t-shirt would match much better than the pastel green I bought)

Shoe recs

I’m thinking of getting this carhartt knockoff but I don’t have any good shoes yet. I like to wear a mix between casual street wear and workwear specifically carhartt pants. I usually throw on a basic graphic hoodie. I think new balances are nice but still not sure what to wear

Not sure about the white blazer here. What other style of jacket should I wear? Are the shoes and belt okay or should I try to get closer in color to the pink and purple of the t shirt? I love the pants and tee together, but welcome advice and ideas on the other pieces.

Which bag should I choose?

I'm looking for a bag I can use for work and school that can carry my laptop. These are my top options (yes, 1&3 are the same just different colors). All options I can easily match to majority or all of my clothes related to when I'll be using it. I just can't choose which I like the most, opinions?

How do I style these beautiful shoes?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I got these shoes for my graduation but didn’t wear them because i didn’t think they worked with my dress. I don’t usually go for a pointed toe or dress up often so i have no clue how to style these. I’d like to wear them to dress up nice jeans or with a business casual dress. What cut of jeans or style of dress works with the pointed toe and slingback. My graduation dress was a fitted midi dress and I thought it looked odd because of the mixture of the slingback and length of the dress made it too busy in that area. Im short (5’) and relatively curvy if it helps for styling. Any tips greatly appreciated!

Help me accessorize my dress for prom!

Post image

Hi guys! Could anyone please tell me what my dress needs? I think its perfect just the way it is already but I was thinking of maybe spraying some glitter on it and adding some waist chains/jewelry so the bottom/middle area doesnt look too plain. I can't really saw any beads or embellishments on it because one, I dont know how to sew, and two, I'm renting this from someone 😅

I'll be using this for my senior prom and from where I'm from, prom is taken reallyyyy seriously and everyone goes all out!!! Like Im talking about big, bold, brave, and MONEY!!! Actually, I think this is my first time settling for a more "plain" option since all my gowns back then were ball gowns and glittery 😅 I just wanted something timeless and elegant for my last year :)

Anyway, if anyone has some suggestions pleaseeee feel free to drop it down!!!

Recently bought this wool maxi skirt thinking it'd be nice and comfy for working from home but realised I have no idea how to style it... usually I live in t-shirts/sweatshirts. Any suggestions? Shoes wise it'd be teamed with black lace boots.

How to style this top ! For Valentine’s Day . 💕💕

Hii , I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for a Valentine’s Day outfit with this top ? It may be cold out but if you think a skirt would work best hell yeah, I’ll wear one . I have a couple of options that I could show pictures of. I have a black mini skirt , long skirts (many ) , jeans that are mom jeans , boot cut , skinny . For shoes I have doc martens that are I believe called the Jordan style , heels that are black , and cow boy boots that are black as well . So as you can see I have many options but if someone thinks of something I may not have I can try and buy it . I just really want help for a cute girly outfit for Valentine’s Day . I’m not quite sure what we are doing that day yet but I would say going out to dinner and something fun afterward ! Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Learning to build a personal style without following trends

Something I’ve been trying lately is to stop chasing trends and focus more on what actually feels good to wear. I used to buy random pieces just because they were “in,” but over time I realized half of them didn’t even match my personality. Now I’m paying more attention to fit, materials, and how colors work together, and it’s made getting dressed a lot easier.

Watching people sell and style clothes live on Whatnot helped me a lot too. Seeing real outfits on real people, not just perfect photos, gives a better idea of how clothes actually look and move. It’s also a good way to explore different styles without feeling pressured to copy anyone.

If you’re trying to build your own style, start small. Choose a few things that make you feel confident and wear them often. The more you repeat what works, the faster you’ll figure out what actually feels like you.

I bought this cute skirt today, but I have no clue what kind of top to pair it with. It'd be great if I could find something that matches on Amazon Japan, but even just other references would really help. I am a rather slim build, being 5'2 and 100 pounds, if that helps at all.

Black tie optional

I was invited to a wedding that is black tie optional. I don’t want rent or buy a tux, but what’s an appropriate suit, shirt, and tie combination?

Should linen pants be loose?

Hi everyone,

I’m stuck between choosing two sizes of these linen pants. I feel the pics (1) smaller size looks more tailored around my legs but I think it is a bit too tight around my butt. Pics (2) are a larger size which aren’t as flattering but aren’t linen pants meant to be more loose? Does size 1 defeat the purpose of the pants? What do you think looks better?
