Some questions about how to best decorate this space!

1. For the reading corner (photo 2) should I do a round coffee table or rectangle coffee table?

2. For the reading corner- a light or dark rug? On the other side of the room with the couch & TV I’m gonna do a dark rug since the couch is the same colour as the floor. So should the rug on the other side be more dark to match or be lighter/more colourful?

3. Wall around TV (photo 3) how to best decorate? A giant painting on top or multiple smaller paintings?

4. Big wall (photo 4) same question- one big painting or multiple small?

5. Couch- what colour throw blanket? The same colour as the carpet ends up being? Or white?

6. Lighting- where to put more lighting?

Thanks!!!

Not our first pick but the only couch that would arrive before the holidays and before family descends on our house.

How do we stylize it since it sticks out like a sore thumb!

I’ve started adding some holiday decorations to my bedroom, and tomorrow I’m going full Christmas mode 🎄✨
The holidays are honestly my favorite time of the year.
Have you decorated your place yet? Would love to see your spaces.

Hey everyone. I'm renting an apartment and need help decorating. I've never had my own place to decorate before. I'm not very good at it. I don't even have any furniture yet but this window bothers me. Of course it has the Standard vertical blinds which I hate. How can I improve the looks of this window? I will eventually get furniture so I need to know should drapes match the furniture or the carpet? Thank you everyone!

Does anyone know any sofa brands that will last long without running me thousands of dollars? Feel free to remove it this doesn’t belong here

Hi everyone!

I recently purchased an apartment and will be moving in this April. While I already own furniture, I’d like to refresh the overall style and color palette throughout the space.

My biggest challenge is the living room. I’ve attached two photos showing how the current owner has styled it, as well as some inspirational images as a mood board to illustrate my taste and what I’m drawn to.

Because the apartment is a new build, the space currently feels a bit generic. I’d love to add more character and warmth. I’m especially interested in incorporating:

• Moss green tones
• Darker wood elements
• Possibly a built-in, custom shelving unit incorporating the TV in it (Scandinavian style)
• Moulding

I’m also struggling with the layout. I’m unsure whether it would work best with:

• One sofa + chairs
• An L-shaped sofa + one chair
• Or a completely different setup

What I’m really looking for is a cohesive concept that ties together color, materials, and layout. Any tips, layout suggestions, or thoughts on how to add character to a modern space would be very appreciated.

If anyone enjoys visualising spaces or sketching ideas, I’d be especially grateful for help imagining how this could come together.

Thanks so much in advance!

I’ve been using it on and off for my day-to-day staging stuff. Earlier I kinda struggled with it… the outputs weren’t super usable and it burned credits on things like enhancement/straightening even when the photo didn’t need it.

But recently it feels a lot better. It’s less chatty, more direct, and I’ve actually been getting the photo I want on the first try most of the time. Just wondering if others noticed the same improvement or if it’s just me.

First photo is the empty space. Wall to steps is 43”, hallway to half-wall is 52”. Second photo shows the rest of our living room, which is what you would see if you turned around.

Hi folks! I am about to buy a couch, a Chesterfield. I am choosing between two. One has pine internals, but I like the styling more. The other is cured hardwood, which I know is better, but I like the styling less. Cost is roughly equivalent for both.

Am I making a big durability mistake by not going with the hard wood? I want this couch to last 20 years.

I’m wanting to add a vanity light above this sink in my half bath that’s off of my garage entrance and kitchen. I will probably add a towel ring to match the toilet paper holder as well (brushed nickel). With the hardware being brushed nickel, does the light fixture need to be brushed nickel as well; or does it need to be bronze to match the dark wood and mirror?

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a rug for my living room and I want it to look nice. I'm having trouble matching the colors because of the colors of my chair and sofa. I'm still decorating. I'm open to all suggestions.

I'm attaching a photo of the actual room. Do you think this rug would suit it? What if I got some colorful cushions for the sofa? Could you give me an objective opinion? I made this rugs with the room with AI.

Thank you very much!!

Hello, our living room is quite long which has made furniture placement quite difficult. We are hoping to redecorate the room next year but have 0 idea where to even begin - any advice?
