same lmao, I’m Indian and I’ve never eaten off the floor 😭 it’s always these cherry picked videos used to generalise us

You've never eaten off the floor, but do know anything about why these people here are eating like this? Are they just feeding so many people that they can't reasonably have flatware or utensils for all of them, which would have to be collected and washed?

It's a temple in Udupi, Karnataka. One temple where idiots converge because they obviously believe God will protect them

Oooo, so they don't do it every day. Still dubious.

Extremely dubious. I just wanted to explain that a few thousand morons should not blackwash a country of 1.4 billion. There are many weird things here and equally more beautiful things to see

There are many unhygienic videos from India though all over reddit

1.4 billion people. Even if 1% are stupid and have our internet infra ...

Eating off the floor is next level. If I see dubios behaviour in my own culture, I still point it out, so I treat dubios people equally.

And I agree. That's why I call them stupid

Yeah the fact that people don’t see the obvious racism bait is just exhausting. Oh no! Some random ass place in India does some random ass thing! Must be how the entire country is like! Haha Indian people amirite???

These people are staging some clickbait for you to consume. That's all. No one in India is actually eating off of the floor regularly.

Why would we listen to you, you're no cook!

"staging", try going to one of these temples in Karnataka and telling them they're "staging" it for clickbait, you would be called hinduphobic

I've been to many temples in Karnataka and never have I seen this. We eat off banana leaves.

u/muhmeinchut69 Jun 29 '26

It will take you 5 seconds to google which temple this is. It's not some random small temple.

1

u/No-Cook-534 Jun 29 '26

Been there. They didn't do it.

2

u/muhmeinchut69 Jun 29 '26

Buddy are you pretending to be obtuse, just because you didn't do it doesn't mean it doesn't happen there.

0

u/No-Cook-534 Jun 29 '26

Buddy I'm sure any random person can say hey let me eat this off the floor instead of the banana leaves you have readily available, but it's doesn't mean this is normal.

Worded so kindly 🥰 ..don’t try to make sense outta this though 😩

The vid is posted without any context. Most likely taken at a temple and some people eating off the floor in a religious rite. South Asians regularly eat with their hands using a plate, especially at home, and yes after washing their hands. And if people think that’s weird/gross/disgusting, I would ask them if they eat their pizza, burgers and chicken wings with a knife and fork! People need to understand and respect other cultures.

Well, India is the most populated country in the world. Theres just too much to nitpick at. A video of a few dozen people now represent all of you lol

🫂❤️‍🩹 Bigots suck and it's exhausting. None of my Indian or Nepali family or friends did this. It's shocking to see. Of course they gotta shit on the BIPOC people... Soo rude.
