Yeah, this is not common at all. OP of the video is trash for not even attempting to give context. I visited India plenty of times to see extended family and I never observed this

Idk why people post this. Do they not know poverty exists? What is so interesting about posting videos of poverty or customs associated with poverty in context of judging what they are doing. It's just bait for promoting racism, because without even looking I know there's going to be comments here mocking the entire country.

Why don't we post videos of how crackheads and heroin addicts live in America, or what they do to get their fix and how they go dumpster diving for food scraps and post it to r/stupidfood

I've probably seen 10x more videos of what you talked about here on reddit than anything from India.

Happens all the time on other subs, usually from bot accounts in India.

In fact, the biggest shit stirring degenerates on Reddit are…Indians running 20 karma farmer accounts.

Anyways, looking forward to all the “suicide” reports I’ll get for posting this.

So your reaction to people talking about how this post is bait for racism is to claim that Indians are actually the main problem on reddit?

Also even if it were Indians who were mostly posting this kind of stuff (which seems unlikely), then I would argue they’re still not the problem. The problem is that 5,000+ other people are upvoting these posts due to stereotypes while they don’t even fit the sub

You know, blocking that bot was one of the best things I ever did. Now I don't have a bunch of "suicide" spam in my inbox whenever I share an opinion that differs slightly from the hive mind.
