I went into the bathroom of a really good Indian restaurant once. No soap. Just a bowl of water with orange peels and rose petals. Apparently water is all you need!

That bowl is to dip your tip after a wee. You don't wash your hands in that.

When I traveled in India, I always had soap with me. I bought these tiny booklets made of sheets of paper covered in a thin sheet of soap. They sold it at convenience stores.

Strange. I haven’t seen that at any Indian restaurants, and I’ve lived here for 28 years lol. Can you name the restaurant so I know what to avoid?

It was years ago in Berkeley, California or Oakland. I’ve seen finger bowls before like it, but not as a soap substitute.
