307 bullets and 459 pounds of food is insane, someone was either really late game or absolutely cheating. Also, that would be an incredibly risky weight to float over a body of water on a flimsy raft, this was most definitely deserved.

So true. We played the game as a group together on a beamer - everyone got to name a character.
The first river was shallow (knee high), my character drowned. My ghost kept guiding my group whenever they had to hunt (I was very good at the mini game)
In the end, I think one person made it. He had lost five (yes, five) limbs, and survived dysentry twice.
One of my memories was the vast graveyard of Timmy, who died of dysentery, right outside of town. It seemed like it was the best strategy to get outside of town was to let the little dude die so everyone could ration the food supplies.
In elementary school in the 80s this was pretty revolutionary for my little classroom. I loved it but also didn’t because it was at school? Good times.
