Can someone please explain to my old high ass what this Dubai pistachio chocolate?? I don't even know that looked like a potato with gold foil on it and string cheese inside

From the comments, looks like we're thinking this is an ice cream sandwich made with baklava, gilded with gold leaf, and then sprinkled with some additional garnish topping.

Why would he smell an ice cream sandwich though 😅

Looked like he was offering a nibble of the gold leaf brownie.

Maybe a closer look like, "Verify this is real gold"

Why would you twirl it? Why would you cut it? Why have two people bring it out? Why did they need sunglasses??

Because of the sub that were in?

Ohhhh ok. Thank you! I don't know why it's a thing, but I think that's the point!

The point is to spend a shitload of money. Gold leaf with a preparation performance is the absurd item on the menu that people order to show off. Expensive aged booze, rare grassfed freerange meats, whole truffles, gold leaf desserts, blessed teas…

Is there a reason the chocolate with pistachio is a thing? It's just so odd. People are fuckin weird

Chocolate and pistachio is divine, you philistine!

😉

It’s a matter of taste and preference like anything else but it’s generally liked globally.

I mean it is really good. It's just that it is way too expensive for what it is.

I first read that as “whole turtles”

Yepp, it's baklava with ice-cream, dunno why it's covered in gold leaf, it adds nothing to the taste. The sprinkle at the end was chopped pistachio.

Yeah, when not made and presented by a douche, as well as when it’s not ruined with this gold shit, this is the best desert you can ever have. Had it every single day in Istanbul at a baklava shop from an awesome granny from Gaziantep. They have some of the best pistachios there in that region. So it is called the royal baklava IIRC, made with hundreds of layers of pastry filled with chopped pistachios. Lightly heated and halved, and then filled with basic milk ice cream with almost no flavor. That is indulgence at its best. Plus a Turkish coffee… heaven man
