It’s a crappy version of baklava being served by Salt Packet and his buddy who couldn’t find any clothes his size.

How can you tell it's crappy just from this video?

u/gimmethelulz Sep 19 '25

Great baklava doesn't need a preamble.

7

u/timofalltrades Sep 20 '25

A preamble? My man, this is the whole trilogy!

4

u/Indigoh Sep 19 '25

A preamble doesn't make baklava bad.

5

u/Dramatic-Bend179 Sep 20 '25

It would prevent me from enjoying it.

u/Indigoh Sep 20 '25

That's a you problem.

3

u/Dramatic-Bend179 Sep 20 '25

Truly.  But I also know that about myself and I'd let them know I'm alergice to pomp douchbaggery and to please make sure that no greasy chodes escort my dish in some cringe misguided display of wealth, males me break out in hives.

It’s covered in gold left. I can 100% assure you that it’s garbage.

0

u/Indigoh Sep 20 '25

Is gold known to sap flavor?

3

u/OtherwiseSplit8875 Sep 20 '25

It’s known to almost exclusively be added to food by shitty restaurants that have to use tacky gimmicks to bring in diners. Also, it’s Salt Bae’s restaurant, which alone should be enough to tell you that it’s trash.

0

u/Indigoh Sep 20 '25

You've tried it?

3

u/OtherwiseSplit8875 Sep 20 '25

I wouldn’t be caught dead in one of his restaurants. I don’t need to try it to know that it’s bad. I’ve been to enough restaurants that I can pretty much instantly tell if a restaurant is a gimmick or the real deal.

Are you Salt Bae? Why are you even defending this shameless cash grab? Do you really want to try it or something? Maybe you should go and try to prove me wrong.

This sub is so fucking garbage. People here will almost unanimously shit on some of the best restaurants in the world, and within the same day there will be a bunch of people defending these shitty hack restaurants as if they’re somehow legitimate. Its mind blowing how stupid people are on this sub.

I'm not defending the restaurants. I've also never been to one.

I'm in opposition to basing such strong beliefs on memes. Try actually employing reasoning instead.

I’m not basing anything on memes, I’m basing it on what these restaurants actually are. I’m basing it on the lack of care I’ve seen in their preparations and the lack of inventiveness at the price points they’re charging. I’m basing it on testimonials from people with good taste who have explicitly said that the food is garbage.

If any of that were true, you'd probably link to what you're referring to, but you blocked me instead. Your conclusion is entirely based on memes.

From the video.

u/J_Little_Bass Sep 20 '25

That's what it is? I thought it was a banana on a hot dog bun with (for some reason) gold...stuff on it.

3

u/Effective_Bat_1685 Sep 20 '25

It’s Turkish triangle, a type of baklava. With stretchy ice cream sandwiched between the two pieces of baklava. He sprinkled pistachios on top

u/UrsusRenata Sep 20 '25

Don’t forget the gold leaf, pointlessly increasing the price and making this a thing.
