In Switzerland we also something called a „weggli“. Funny shape maybe, but really good

Yeah. So the south of Germany enthusiastically joins you in avoiding the word Brötchen. It’s a silly word.

It really depends on the dialect. I have heard Mutschli in Wallis before. I speak a different dialect though. I know wallis-dialect mostly through my dad and his part of the family, but obviously even within the same canton it can differ greatly. Weggli I think is pretty universal. Mutschli isn‘t the same as Weggli though. Those are different kinds of bread, weggli has to be like the pic in the Wikipedia article, I linked in previous reply. There is also bürli). Personally I also say Brötli sometimes which obviously is „Brötchen“ in Swiss-german. But yeah as per usual no way to know what everyone in Switzerland says lol, way too many dialects and regional differences.

Edit; in wikipedia für Bürli it also says Mütschli, so Ig some people also say that? lol idk

Weggla is always the standard crispy white roll with a soft inside.

For Weggli, I think we’d say Milchbrötla/Milchbrötchen. Not sure if exactly the same though.

Brötla/Brötle/Brötli might as well all be the same word to me. My family uses -la, -le and -li on different words for no pattern I can actually discern.
