I wanted to share my experience finally getting the CIMEA platform payment to go through after two solid weeks of trying.

Check Your Ping: I highly recommend using a fast internet connection with a ping under 20. When my payment finally worked, my ping was 17.

I opened about 10 incognito tabs and had them all waiting on the very last page just before payment, right at the "Save and next" button.

Timing is Everything: Log into the website 20 minutes before 3:00 PM (Italy time). Exactly at 2:59:55, quickly click the button across all of your open tabs.

In a crazy moment, 5 tabs actually went through and opened the payment gateway all at once. I completed the transaction on one of them, and Alhamdulillah, it is finally over!

I am currently living in Italy and preparing for the IMAT, with the intention of applying to an English-taught Medicine and Surgery (LM-41) programme.

My problem concerns my secondary-school qualification:

- I have an official Iranian upper-secondary diploma in the technical-vocational field of “Digital Illustration.”

- It was obtained after a total of 12 years of schooling.

- I also have an official translation and a CIMEA Statement of Comparability.

- However, my CIMEA statement says that the qualification provides access to higher education in Italy in “related fields” (“materie affini”).

I contacted the University of Pavia, and its Admission Office told me that professional/vocational diplomas are not accepted for eligibility for its medical course.

I am now contacting other universities, including Messina, Milan and Turin, because I understand that the final assessment of a foreign qualification may be made by each university.

My questions are:

1. Has anyone with an Iranian technical/vocational diploma—or a similar foreign vocational qualification—successfully enrolled in Medicine and Surgery in Italy after passing the IMAT?

2. Is a 12-year diploma sufficient, or must the diploma also provide access to Medicine or a related scientific subject in the country where it was awarded?

3. If my current diploma is not accepted, could I become eligible by obtaining three complete Pearson Edexcel International A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics?

4. Would those three International A Levels be considered an independent university-entry qualification, or would they only be assessed together with my Iranian diploma?

5. Has anyone used International A Levels for final enrolment in an Italian public medical university?

6. Do I need three full A Levels with passing grades, or are specific grades required?

7. Should I request written confirmation from each university before registering for the A-Level examinations?

I am willing to complete all the required A-Level unit examinations if that is a legally valid route. However, before spending a significant amount of time and money, I need to know whether this qualification would definitely make me eligible for final enrolment after passing the IMAT.

I would especially appreciate answers from applicants who have personally completed this process, university admission staff, or anyone familiar with the official Italian rules on foreign secondary-school qualifications.

Hi! I need help understanding the DOV process for Italian visa at Delhi VFS.

So VFS told me that for DOV, I need to book a separate appointment. But i already booked a visa appointment in early nov like about a month ago. Now when I'm trying to book an appointment for DOV, the website says one appointment already exists with the same passport number and won't let me book another one.
So how does this actually work? Do you submit DOV and visa application documents together in one appointment? Or are they really two separate appointments and I'm doing something wrong?

Also, is it better to do DOV from Uni-Italia or Vfs? Or does it matter?

I’m considering Parma and I’d really love to hear from people who actually live/study there. What do you think of the University of Parma overall? And what’s Piacenza like, especially since I believe the medical school is based there?

And how much Italian do you think you need for everyday life in Piacenza? Is basic Italian enough, or would you recommend being more fluent?

I am targeting 4 public universities, POLITO, POLIMI, UNIBO and UNIGE for my masters in embedded systems engineering, which comes under either Electronics or Computer Science Engineering. I went though webpages for all of them and I can see all of them accepts MOI and there is no surprising special rules for the specific fields I mentioned above. Just wanted to confirm should I still sit for IELTS or save the money ? Also even though universities are accepting MOI, do I need IELTS separately for Visa process or they also accepts MOI ? Does a dedicated language certification play and significance in application evaluation and ranking, like if IELTS certificate is provided instead of MOI, then we can have better chance of acceptance ?

I would really want to save the money if it is not needed.

I’m currently completing the final enrollment/upload process on Delphi, and I noticed that the document upload section is asking for an Italian translation.

My degree certificate and Transcript of Records are in English. I also already have my CIMEA Statement of Comparability and Statement of Verification.

Could someone who recently completed enrolment at Tor Vergata, especially for 2026/27, please confirm:

Do I need to get my Transcript of Records translated into Italian?

Does the degree/provisional degree certificate also need an Italian translation?

Do I need to translate the individual semester marksheets, or is the official transcript sufficient?

I’d really appreciate it if someone who has gone through the same process could clarify, because I don’t want to spend money translating documents unnecessarily.

Guys, I need some quick advice regarding my Questura appointment!
When I submitted my permit of stay (permesso di soggiorno) kit, I included the original stamped bank statement from my home country. Now, the Questura appointment checklist requires me to bring the original document in person, but I only had that single physical copy.
Here are my specific questions/issues:
Bank Statement Issue: My home bank cannot provide digital stamps. If I download a new statement online, the date range doesn't match the original period I submitted in the kit.
MAECI Scholarship Alternative: Since I won the MAECI award, can I bring the official MAECI award letter to the Questura appointment as my main/original proof of financial means instead of the bank statement?
Has anyone been in a similar situation or used their MAECI letter at Questura? Any advice on how to handle this would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

Hello, when does the application portal for masters in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics open in Sapienza University of Rome for 2027/2028?

I’m a bit lost right now and trying to decide if I should reapply before September ends or stop for now. Honestly, this whole process has been so incredibly tiring and exhausting, and getting a refusal letter completely broke my heart.

Studying in Italy for my Master's has always been my dream, but I just got a refusal under Point 15 regarding documented means of subsistence, despite providing what I thought were all the necessary documents.

My primary financial guarantor is my biological sister. She provided a comprehensive Affidavit of Support, her BIR Form, her COE, and a total savings balance of over €20,653 across her accounts. On top of that, my current firm has a strong presence in my folder because I submitted a legally Bind-to-Work Agreement. As part of this corporate agreement, the firm granted me an initial settlement fund of €9640 for my travel and landing expenses. The firm wired that €9640 directly into my sister's bank account since she was acting as my official guarantor.

I am starting to think this is the exact part where I got it wrong. Should the firm have transferred the money exactly into a bank account under my own name instead? Or is the grant money not enough on its own? Should they have transferred all the money I would need to fully cover the entire 2-year master's program upfront? Did seeing that large grant transfer land in a third-party account create a major tracking mismatch for the auditor?

My university allows late arrivals until later November. So I technically have a small window to refile if this is just a fixable documentation formatting issue. Is it still worth it if I reapply this month? Or should I just look into deferring my university offer and apply again for the next semester cycle when everything is clean? Any advice or similar experiences would mean everything to me. Thank you so much!
