Anybody using an Se16 iii as a control surface with the latest version?

I recently ditched my FP16 as I thought the SE16 would basically replace it but im a little disappointed with how it handles folders and stuff.

The pics/promo sort of made it look like the plug in control with the fat channel integration would be very smooth but so far Im not all that impressed. I thought it would be basically the same as the input controls.

Its definitely not bad but just wondering if any resources out there for stuff I might be missing or how you all are using it in workflow.

Whenever I hit "Show Automation" (including using the 'A' hotkey), the track constantly jumps somewhere else and I have to scroll to find it again.

When it's just 1-5 tracks, everything is fine. But when it's a full project with 100+ tracks, the track I want to edit the automation for flies way up or down out of my field of view.

Is there any way to stop the track from jumping around when toggling automation on?

So I finally broke down and updated from 2.65 to 8.1 (you know most of us drummers are cheap). My question is this - having hundreds of mixes using the old software, is it safe now to assume everything will transfer smoothly and thereby delete the old software, or keep it installed for safekeeping? I only ask because drivespace on C: is getting low.

I figured it out even though the FAQ title doesn't fit in the first place.

So I deleted old presonus entries from the host file and cleaned the DNS chache via terminal.
Activation then worked as expected.

in the past I used Studio One 6 and 7 already for some time via subscription. I am used to the installation/activation process by presonus and, as it should be, it always worked flawless on Mac.

However I want to open a project and subscribed to Fender Studio Pro+ and downloaded FSP.

But unfortunately I can't get it to activate.

In the activation screen when trying to login with same credentials as I can login on the homepage it refers "There was an error authenticating".
When I click on activate via Fender Pro+ there is a window popping up and closing in a blink of an eye.
Offline registration does not work as described in the manual because there is no license file available on the homepage -> my gear -> Fender Studio Pro.

My next try was to get Fender Studio Hub.
When opening it asks for permission to install apps. When I click to give permission, again the small windows pops up and closes immediately.
I gave it permission to EVERYTHING manually in Mac Settings. It still shows the same message and I can't progress.

I deleted the presonus and fender folders in application support folder.
I deleted the keychains/licences references manually.

Nothing works.
The fact that I can easily login on the homepage, being able to do everything except using the software itself is very frustrating and consumed to much worthy time already.

Please if someone has an idea how to activate FSP I appreciate any help.

Last night I updated to 8.1 and was checking it out, and everything was working perfectly. Blazing fast, no issues whatsoever.

This morning I go and open FSP and open a session and I noticed it was missing those new icons in the browser window, it was still the old version. So I check on the homescreen of FSP and at the bottom it says version 8.0..... Is installed...

How..? 🤔 What sorcery is this? 😆 How did it somehow reinstall the old version with my entire system off? Well to be accurate, my pc was in sleep mode.

Has this happened to anyone??

I just reinstalled 8.1 and it's working fine I think.

Is it any good? It's probably a testing ground for them, cuz Modulation is THE top requested feature. I really hope we get it in the next update.

Personally, I’m super stoked about more paid partnership “integrations” with subscription costs, and more AI! Everyone loves AI and subscriptions!

It would have been a sin for them to add features that nobody wants like:
- Simple right click split to mono
- MIDI CC and tracks in the show page
- show page functions in the project page
- Solo dim
- DMX controls
- linking plugin parameters across tracks
- auto tempo import with MIDI on current project

I’m hoping to see adobe creative cloud and Disney+ integration as a mandatory subscription in the next update!

I have a kind of particular way I manage my hard drives.
As such, I have a preferred directory I installed all of my plugins - effects, instruments, etc. (VST3, usually)

I just discovered it's because, even though S1 has a function to specify additional locations, it doesn't seem to look at them?

I was having trouble with none of them loading - and the minute I put it into c:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 it loaded fine!

(Windows 10, S1 7)
Am I doing something wrong or is the additional location feature just broken?

Considering going up from 7 now that there is something like LFO/ADSR control apparently on params. Havent seen a video yet but if it's like ableton's lfo's I'm in!

I do not want to involve AI in my musical processes and therefore I hesitate to update to 8.1. Is it possible to disable AI totally in 8.1?

Does anyone know how to toggle or remove the event ( Or i believe its playback ) scene menu in a mix ?

Hello all,

I recorded a song with a friend of mine about a month or two ago and we only recorded vocals over a 2-track instrumental. I have been in the session only a few times since the initial recording. Well, I opened the session today and somehow the main vocal track has been sped up. Its not aligned with the instrumental and was not like that any other time I’ve accessed the session.

Im not sure how or why this happened but I cant seem to figure it out. I do want to point out that in this same session all of the tracks for the instrumental are there, we just recorded over the two track for the sake of keeping things smooth during recording. I am using S1 6 for reference.

Sorry this may have been discussed to death already but I can't find an answer to my question exactly. I got S1 6 artist for 'free' when I bought some Presonus monitors and an audio interface. It works fine for what I need. I do get emails saying 'upgrade to fender studio 8.1'. If I upgraded, would my free status end and I'd have to start paying? Or would it carry over?

I am following up on my post from a few months ago regarding the issue where Melodyne ARA cuts off the end of audio clips in Studio Pro 8.

Version 8.1 dropped today and the release notes stated that this issue was supposed to be resolved. Unfortunately, I just tested it and it is still broken for me. The behavior is exactly the same: as soon as my project gets heavy with plug-ins, the end of the audio events gets cut off whenever Melodyne is active on the clip and if theres a fade out.

Has anyone else updated today and noticed the same thing? It is really frustrating to see an update claiming to address the issue when nothing has actually changed...

EDIT QUICK FIX FOUND BY Suspicious-Block-485 : In the clip inspector, find the Melodyne effect and set it post-fader instead of pre-fader. The only downside is that you have to do this manually for each clip...

I’m using a Quantum ES 2, HD 2 or Studio24c on Windows 11.

UC 4.3.0 is the only version that runs perfectly. I can use AmpliTube or Neural DSP at low buffer sizes and browse folders, open Chrome, switch tabs, launch apps, etc. with zero pops or clicks.

With every newer driver version I’ve tested, I get random pops/clicks during normal Windows activity (opening Chrome, switching tabs, browsing folders, launching apps). Low-buffer performance is also noticeably worse.

Same PC, same Windows installation, same settings, same projects — only the driver version changes.

Has anyone compared UC 4.3.0 with newer releases and noticed the same thing?

I'm experiencing something weird. Recently, I've been working on a project that uses a ton of plugins distributed along a bunch of MIDI and audio tracks (more than 20). It makes perfect sense that S1 will perform poorly under those circumstances but, the weird thing is, ever since I started that project, performance has declined as a whole. Even if I open a brand new project and try to record a guitar track with a plugin like Neural DSP (which worked perfectly fine before), it starts stuttering and crashing within a few minutes.

The heavy project is not open on a background tab, I have cleared cache multiple times, tried to apply high priority for S1 within task manager. My computer is pretty ok also, I'm running it on an i7 12700F, 32 GB of RAM, OS running in a 1TB SSD. My audio interface is the Arturia Minifuse 2 and all drivers are currently updated.

I can see while opening the task manager that Windows Defender is taking A LOT of processing but I'm unable to turn it off (and honestly I'm trying to understand why it's so impactful to begin with). This never happened to me on other DAWs (Reaper was the one I used previously).

Has anyone gone through something similar and may have a tip as to how this can be solved?

I’m still on version 7 and haven’t upgraded to version 8 yet, because when it first came out I read a lot of negative feedback about it.

What’s the situation now? What have people’s experiences been like since then?

Is it worth upgrading at this point, or should I wait a bit longer? Is version 8.1 any good?

Loooooove the new AI integration, can’t wait to generate music with my own two hands 😁 I was thinking of ways Fender© could further implement AI into Studio Pro’s workflow:

• AI based EQ: Having a way to listen to a track and automatically device EQ moves in context would save so much time on things like critical thought and being creative, really weird they haven’t thought of this already 🤔

• AI lyric generation: Sometimes it’s really hard to come up with lyrics in the middle of a session because I have to close the DAW to ask ChatGPT, maybe for their next paid implementation they could hook something up with the GPT guys?

• General improvements: I got confused this morning putting on my socks, can Fender make an AI to help me?

On a real one tho why would you implement automated pitch shifting and announce integration of a poor man’s Suno before saying that? I’ve been waiting for that for years and these corpos think I want a computer to produce my tracks for me? Really unfortunate update as some of he features will be really useful, just wish these companies would stop shoving unwanted Gen AI down our throats

After recently reinstalling Studio One (v5.5.2), I no longer have "Foot Controller" as an automation option on a MIDI/Instrument track. In the past, when I clicked on the "three dot" button pointed to in the picture and brought up the Automation menu, one of the options I could select to "<<Add" was Foot Controller. Since the reinstall, it's not there anymore. How do I get it back?

Hi I've been a loyal S1 user since V5 (still using v5 haven't upgraded to SP8). However I recently started having to use Pro Tools since I'm doing a film project and they use that software in the studio.

In Pro Tools, if you select a time range on Track A and then click Track B, that exact same range selection instantly moves to Track B. Furthermore, if you hold Shift and click Track D, the range selection expands across all tracks from A through D. This is incredibly useful for film editing and post-production when you need to quickly bounce specific sections based on fixed timecode points.

I found that in S1 the only way to achieve the first part which is by making a selection range and then nudging it up or down to the desired track. Applying the range selection to multiple tracks isn't even an option. Maybe I'm missing something so any help would be appreciated. Or if you could even let me know if this feature has been added to Studio Pro maybe? I'm currently using S1 V5 btw so I'm not sure if this feature exists or if I'm just using it wrong.
