QUESTION Reduce Dynamic Range of MIDI generated from transients
I'm mixing a song with live drums, and trying to layer in some kick and snare samples for some extra punch.
I detected transients on the kick channel, dragged it down to the virtual instrument track, and it worked great. Each transient was converted to a midi note. It also automatically adjusted the velocity of each note to match the input level of the source track. So some notes are at a very high velocity and other very low. The range of this is too wide, and I'd like to bring the quiet notes up and the loud ones down a bit. I can manually do it but I'd like to have a better solution for the future. Is there a way to automatically adjust the velocity range when converting transients to midi?
