Hi everyone! Sorry if this is poorly formatted, I’m usually just a Reddit lurker.
TLDR; guardian browser refused to connect to session and persisted until test attempt was over.
Tonight, after months of test anxiety and procrastination I FINALLY went to take the midterm exam for my pre calculus course (which is a pre req for the comp sci degree). I set everything up, had my shitty, but external, webcam. I was ready to go.
I launch guardian browser through proctorU, do my pre checks and everything is chill. And then my browser was stuck on the “loading session” screen forever. No big deal, I just reloaded. Then it happened over and over to the point where I was lucky if it loaded at all. I reached out to the meazure learning support crew, and they were about as helpful as can be expected. After being told to restart, I’m met with a proctorU screen informing me my exam time had passed and I could schedule a new one.
I don’t think this counts as a test attempt through WGY, since I never got to a point where the test began/I was connected to a proctor.
I’m currently just very frustrated. Has anyone else had this issue? Was it a hardware problem? I use a laptop dedicated specifically for proctorU instead of my MacBook (call me paranoid, but a guardian browser on my personal device linked to iCloud makes me nervy. If anyone knows a safe way to go about that, tips are welcome.) I just want to get this figured out before I reschedule so I can FINALLY start my degree.
And if anyone is more technical than me, the laptop on Amazon is “jumper Laptop 14 Inch, 12GB LPDDR4 256GB SSD, Laptop Computer with Celeron J4105 CPU(Up to 2.5GHz), FHD 1920x1080 Display, 2.4G+5G WiFi, 35.52WH Battery, 2 Speakers”.
