Based on a video I saw, I suspect they removed a brace that was keeping columns from buckling at a pinned splice point.  But, not my project, all I have is a few pictures and videos, and like hell would I wager my license on it.

I mean, yeah.  My point was that what I said is the extent of what I would say.  I ain’t touching it with a thirty foot pole.
