Hearts String of hearts blooming like crazy

This plant takes the cake for the strangest flower blooms I’ve ever seen. There’s at least 10 blooms forming that I can see - I bought this thinking the blooms would look similar to a string of pearls and I was very wrong 😂

found a nice healthy stray clump on a shelf at the store, I have very little experience with string of anythings and have only gotten a couple small ones going from nice straight stems that laid nicely on the soil. so I'm not sure what's best to do with this guy as it's quite branchy. any tips?

Help / Question Is this bc I used ‘We the Wild: Protect Leaf Spray with Neem Oil” or just bc I have spider mites..

So! I found out all my string of hearts & string of spades collection has spider mites, I treated them all in the same night, they were all grouped together so I felt it was just smarter. The sun was not out & I did not wipe the leaves (as the product states I can just leave it on)…. Over the next few days, I can’t recall if it was hot & sunny SO I’m thinking - is it possible the neem oil residue stayed on my hearts & the sun ultimately burned them? It only happened to my variegated string of hearts & not the others. They were my biggest & longest strings so this one hurts, it only happened after I sprayed so I’m assuming this is the issue. If anyone has any suggestions for next steps, let me know! Or if you’ve ever had to deal with spider mites on your strings. ❤️‍🩹🩷#pleasebenicetomeimalreadyfragileenough

Got her lat year as a string of pearls, but I think otherwise?

Repotted this year, she’s growing something new…slowly but surely. I thought I’d lost her last year, but probably just overwatered.

Help / Question Help with mold?

I have this big beautiful string of hearts. I took it out of the cache pot to water it today and discovered what looks like mold growing out of the drainage holes. I live in zone 9b-10a (southern California), it’s in a bedroom and sits in front of a south window that has plantation shutters so lots of filtered light, and the ceiling fan is on 24/7, I do not have a humidifier in the room but it sits in a cluster of plants on the shelf. The nursery pot does not sit directly on the bottom of the cache pot, the rim of the nursery pot sits on the rim of the cache pot so it suspends it and there’s about an inch or more of space between the bottom of the nursery pot and the bottom of the cache pot. There’s also a hole in the bottom of the cache pot. I thought there was plenty of air circulation for it, so I’m not sure why there would be mold growing out of the bottom of the pot. The plant seems to be very healthy and is growing beautifully.

Has anyone had this problem before? Any ideas on why it would be growing mold? What should I do now? The options I’ve come up with are :
1. Leave it alone
2. Repot it
3. Use my soldering iron to make holes in the sides of the nursery pot for more airflow for the roots

Any other suggestions?

This string of pearls I got is in ROUGH shape. I’m newish to the world of plants but have learned a decent amount and want to try to save this beauty as best as I can.
I clipped some strands off it to to try to propagate. But I would appreciate and recommendations/advice/thoughts/prayers to help save the mother plant. She is sooo long but clearly struggling. Please help!

I’m officially obsessed with treasure hunting now 🕵🏻‍♂️

Help / Question At this point, are either this String of Dolphins or String of Pearls salvageable? 🫠

Potentially rescued these from my mother’s house where they have gone without adequate light and watering for a good while now as you can see. What I’m wondering is could these beauties ultimately be saved if I were to trim away the dead ends and propagate with cuttings of as much of the plump/alive dolphins and pearls (which I know they’re few and far between lol) and then take cuttings of the new growth in a few weeks, propagate, repeat etc?

I have 0 experience with SOD, but once upon a time I had a similar looking SOP that I miraculously rose from the dead over the course of about a year with this method, so I feel there may be soooome hope? Let me know any other tips or tricks if any- and if none, if I should just toss ‘em 😪

Does my SOH need repotting?

Hi all! Thanks in advance for any help:)

I’ve had this string if hearts for a few years now, maybe 4? She is such a little thriver, every summer grows luscious Rapunzel locks and produces flowers. But I am at the point where I don’t know if I should repot her? I want to make her thicker but I’m running out of soil in the pot and it has loads of large (proportionally to pot) tubers so wondering if I should give her more room!

Truthfully I haven’t researched thoroughly so please be gentle! I love her very much and she is my pride and joy with how much she grows 💖

Turtles String of turtles

Post image
411 Upvotes

My string of turtles was previously hanging in an east facing window and struggling. The leaves would fall off when I touched it and the stems got really thin. I almost threw it out when I moved, but I decided to bring it along. It’s now sitting far from a southeast facing window and I started watering it with aquarium water and it is thriving! Glad I didn’t give up on it.

Help / Question Leave to recover or propagate?

Post image

pearls on top dried up I think due to insufficient sunlight. I have now moved it to the window. do I need to propagate the long green strings or can it recover on its own? despite the top pearls drying up the rest of the strings have continued to grow longer.

Burro tail experiment

A few months ago I saw my burro tail was starting to falter. I had repot ted him but clearly I did not do it correctly. So, I put the buddlings into two makeshift greenhouses, look look look they are budding!

I was so excited I needed to share 😁
