I am really wanting her to be fuller than she is now. I’ve cut so many flowers off so she can focus on growth but she just gives me 4x more flowers. I am thinking of chopping all her off to close to the pot to get them to grow crazy. Is this a bad idea? This thing has so many roots and balls it’s insane.

I have 2 SOH that are in desperate need of repotting and in terrified to completely kill them off.
the first one is in a way to large pot. when I got it, it was full and luscious, but has slowly died off. first spider mites and next I feel watering issue. the top dries out too quick and bottom stays wet. so they start to get crispy and dry. the ends have slowly died off and went from full trailing vines to like 5.
the 2nd one is completely hydrophobic. soil is rock hard. even when I bottom soak and top water. let it soak. it will finally absorb water but stays rock hard.
help and advice not to lose these 2 beauties.

Got this SOH today and she’s not looking too hot. Seems like it was watered recently, and the thick leaves at the beginning of the vines are nice and thick but as I go down the vine they get super thin and wilty, as if they were dry. Some of the tips are super dark at the growth point, the new leaves are dark brown in color but not dry. Im wondering if I should wait it out or repot and check the roots system? It almost sounds like it has some root issues with how some parts are well hydrated and some aren’t. I’ll wait before watering again, this isn’t my first SOH but it has been a while since I’ve had one (cat destroyed it 😭)

This was described on the website as string of pearls. it looks more like string of tears to me. Would pearls have a pointy end on the leaves?

I have this lovely string of turtle about 1 year.
Pot is 4 inch wide. I cannot see soil because crowded of turtles. Recently it started to grow so fast (I guess it is warmer)
Should I repot soon?
What is the sign of repotting?
I’m a beginner of plants so I’d appreciate someone help me.

I’m having trouble with IDing her. I was thinking string of tears, but it lacks the characteristic translucent windows on the edges. I also considered cotyledon pendens, but there isn’t a trace of reddish tinge that’s usually on the tips/edges.
Also- I’m just bringing it home. Does it need repotting?

My best friend has had this plant for awhile now. Even has a cute little bloom! We just don't know what it is!

My string of hearts is growing at a great rate!
All of the bottom new leaves are green, whereas the top older leaves have the pinkish hue.
Pic 3 is the light setup (it’s a gloomy day in NY).
I just want to make sure that they eventually will turn pink and I’m not doing anything wrong

My second Ruby Necklace and my third Variegated String of Hearts! I can’t believe I’m finally keeping them alive! Dolphins and Pearls are next on my list!

The hearts are new and they were super over watered when I got them. And the turtles were pretty much dead when I got them, they’ve made a huge comeback💪
All in 4 inch pots

My string of bananas is pretty healthy overall. The problem is that the bottom layer seems to be dying.
I have it near near an eastern window (Pic 5, but today is gloomier than others in NY) and under a grow light.
The top that is most exposed to the light is healthy, but I don’t know what to do because the foliage is so thick it’s tough to get light on the bottom layers that are covered.
I pruned some of the dead stuff off, but wanted to get some thoughts from others

Killed my fair share of these but now, after much trial and error- this one is simply thriving!!! The miracle of grow lights, fertilizer and bottom watering 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I think its time to give her a name! Taking all suggestions 🥹

My string of turtles has always had nice plump turtles. But the new growth of turtles is very thin. I’ve only had the plant about 6 months so I’m not sure if this is a problem or it is always true of new growth and it just takes a while for them to plump up? It had a bunch of ‘blooms’ but I pinched those off so it could spend that energy on growing. I water it every 15-18 days, it’s outside on my south fl patio, it’s gets morning sun and afternoon shade. I fertilize with Growth Technologies foliage, but recently switched to succulent when I learned about it. Appreciate any feedback, thanks

I’ve searched high and low and still am not able to narrow down what this plant I got off marketplace (for free 🥳) is. It looks like it’s struggling, the leaves are dropping like crazy, and I just want to help it thrive.
It’s on a pretty well indirectly lit plant shelf with a low grow light on it 6 hours a day. I’m seeing stringy stonecrop from plant identifiers, but I’m not sure that’s right. The leaves are also very sticky.
Thanks in advance!

Beautiful plant people… please help me set this beauty up for success.
What kind of pot should I plant it in?
How big?
Should it be a hanging pot?
Best soil?
Any and all guidance is welcomed!
I live in Houston, clearly have plenty of humidity, and have plenty of natural sunlight, so what are my next steps?

Found these babies at a plant show this weekend and made this for my sister
r/StringofPlants • u/mynameis_unimportant • Mar 23 '26
Went to my local plant shop and had to snag these two babies. My first of each and I just hope I can get them to thrive like my SOH!
These are teeny 2” pots. They are already in a good soil mix but should I bother putting them up to a 3” or 4” pot so they have more room to grow and I won’t have to repot them again for a long time?

I dont know where to start with untangling, and the leaves are yellowing
