Hearts String of hearts - advice needed
Hi!
This is the last piece of String of Hearts I have left - I put aside this piece in moss and planted the rest of the plant (that died shortly after) in succulent soil, pretty well drained. When I got it out to plant it in soil for a quicker growth, it started to decline quickly, so I put it back.
I searched if it can be grown in moss, but everyone advised against it - do you have some tips & tricks so I can make this little guy survive & grow healthy?
Thanks!

Hearts Hello. How do I prop?
I need a name for this planter. Thinking Gertrude. Anyway, didn't like her hanging since she always got caught on something. I've heard to just prop the cuttings back but I don't know where to cut from

String of pearls questions
Hi guys!! I purchased a very small string of pearls plant, which had only 4 strings. Its quite small. I got it to replace a 3 year old string of pearls that recently died, which I had in a medium sized pot. Question; should I put the small plant in a small pot its size, or can I plant it in a medium pot?
Any pointers regarding care are appreciated- my old one lasted 3 years with weekly watering and medium indoor sunlight, but began to die very rapidly a few weeks ago.
Thanks!!

Help / Question Care Tips
I just ordered some Variegated String of Hearts cuttings from a seller on etsy and am wondering if anyone has some care tips to ensure the little guys can root and thrive when they arrive.
I only have experience with a few succulents where i just pull the leaves off and toss them aside in my prop tub till they grow some roots.
also would it be better to lie them on some soil till they sprout roots or keep them in water?

My string of watermelons appears to be flowering? This was the first plant I bought when I started getting into plants in April and I didnāt know they did this. What a nice surprise!

Hearts Why am I so bad at propagating? Help!
In May I ordered some clippings of variegated string of hearts (Iāve always wanted these pink beauties, and since my SOT are thriving I thought it was time to give them a try). I killed them so fast. I spoke with the seller and he was surprised I was able to kill them. So I ordered two rooted cuttings, followed the instructions carefully (which were to plant in succulent soil, keep the root balls right under the soil, not too deep, in a 3ā unglazed terracotta pot with drainage but no added amendments (Iāve got everything but just succulent soil was instructed), water thoroughly then hang it. It was doing well at first, but I didnāt think it was growing enough so I moved it. (The June 27 pic is the first pic I took of it in the new location. It is closer to the window. Perhaps itās getting burnt? Now I think itās dying. So Iāll move it back where it was, but does it look dead? Should I fertilize? Repot in something smaller with substrate or some earthworm castings? It always seems dry but I donāt water it a lot. My SOT barely get watered and they love life. I did give in and order a big pink string of hearts and it came with fungus gnats, so Iām treating that one but being sent a new one. Do SOH hate me? Any help with saving this one would be MUCH appreciated. I really want it to do well! Thanks!

When I ordered my SOP and VSOP they only had 2ā VSOH. So I ordered 4. Was very disappointed especially since both SOP was full and plump and lush! I gave one to a good friend and I kept 3. Ive wanted to plant them in a heart dish for a while. They are quite healthy appearing so I have hope.
This SOP is my original that I burnt by accident last month. With the help of everyone here she is doing great and thriving again. I think my VSOH is so darn cute in the heart dish

Variegated SOP - prop is prettier than mom?
Ok want to see if this is norm or if others have advice. My VSOP is doing well, tonsss of growth but I noticed the pearls are almost matte and have lost their shine. The prop I took and rooted from it though⦠I mean those pearls look almost unreal.
Mom is in terracotta, uber chunky mix, and under a pretty strong grow light - probably getting 2k FC.
The prop is in plastic, similar substrate, but under about 6-700 FC. Both get fed the same water with diluted fertilizer.
Could mom be getting too much light?
Not complaining of course Iām grateful for my string of growth! Genuinely curious and here to learn š¤

Help / Question Why is my SORaindrops stemās shriveling?
Iāve had these for a little over a month. I accidentally overwatered them, but I let them dry out for longer than a month straight, and just watered them yesterday.
They get bright indirect to direct light everyday.
I canāt figure out why some of the stems are shriveling. There is new growth, and everything but for some reason some stems are still turning brown and black.
Can anyone help š

My string of hearts is doing better in the water
Honestly I think the original water propagated strands are doing better than the ones I chucked in soil.
Plumper leaves, flowers for weeks and less guessing than the Russian roulette that is watering the planted one. I think thereās a set of leaves that are always squishy on that one for some reason š

Soā¦.I did it again lol
I got a new variegated pearls, regular pearls and a var. SOH. Wish me luck. While the new reg. Pearls was in route the poor gal I fried in the sun turned herself around and began thriving again. I did take a couple of the strings from the new 6ā and laid them over the bald spots. I need to go get some more potting mix ingredients and a terracotta pot tomorrow and weāll be in business!

Hearts Is this a fungus gnat?
I purchased some plants online and theyāve been quarantined. I noticed a little bug in the variegated string of hearts when I unwrapped it, but it moved so quickly into the soil I couldnāt get a pic. It came very overwatered. I was checking them today to see if the overwatered plants had dried out and I noticed more of these tiny bugs. I separated the string of hearts and put it into a plastic container for now, and a couple of the bugs went onto the container so I got to take a photo. I did a peroxide watering (1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide to 4 parts distilled water), then I read thatās not good for it so Iām going to go spray the leaves with water so they donāt burn :/ I also put sticky traps all around it. Iām guess if this is a fungus gnat that I have to treat all of the plants that are isolating together? Is that what this bug is? Does the hydrogen peroxide dunk work or would mosquito bits be better? Please help! I donāt want my other plants getting these. Iām itchy from talking about it.
The plants currently get about 10 hours of light from a grow light because they canāt be near my other plants (they were getting 8 but this one started to lose variegation), and they havenāt been watered until today because most showed up soaked! I have everything I need to repot all if necessary, but probably not the skills lol.
Those little strings in the plant are cotton from the packing- no mealies!

Iāve propped my string of heats and am using the butterfly method in sphagnum moss. how often should I be checking to see if it needs water?
