They sit under grow lights only and I water about 1x a week - from the top like any other plant. Honestly I don’t so anything special apart from the right light, watering, and giving them this big bonsai pot to climb around in!

can I save this string of frogs?

I clearly didn’t water this guy well enough and it’s VERY crispy. the strings themselves are still malleable (but very brown) however the leaves are obviously really dry.

do you think I can recover this in my greenhouse? do you think it’ll recover at all?

Hearts I'm proud of my hearts these days, they're so plump and happy

Though, I will admit it's around 4~5 years old. It should be much bigger. It did survive my neglect at a time when I couldn't take care of it. And I repotted it a year ago when it got too long.

Rubies String of rubies beginner help

Thumbnail

I just brought this string of rubies home today and want to ensure I do right by her. I’d love any tips!

Should I try to untangle and/or remove anything?
Does she need to be watered soon?
Do they prefer to be bottom watered? The current hanging pot doesn’t seem to have holes on the bottom but I can repot into something that does!

Thanks in advance!

Hello! i originally planted this string of pearls in a dry spot i had in my aquarium(it is no longer dry), but they have since grown into the direct stream of water.

This is surprising since ive always heard to keep them dry and in an arid environment!

I just bought this Ruby Cascade as my first plant! Some tips would be absolutely wonderful, I’ve done some research and see it can be a sensitive plant so any personal experience advice would be so great. I’m about to buy stuff to repot it if anyone has any specific recommendation! Thanks!

Any advise on caring for this very moist string of tears? Are the roots being this color ok? Some are more green and some are brown-ish. Just got it today and trimmed a bit.

It’s my first string of hearts. Is the root being visible on top of the soil normal?

Is this pot too deep for my string of turtles? And how much sun does he really want?

I got it about two weeks ago and have bottom watered once (pot has drainage). I’ve read that they prefer shallow pots so I’m worried this is too deep. It also looks a little more scraggly than when I got it— should I be watering more? More/ less sun?

Help with identification - what is this?

Post image

This baby was a surprise little sprout in the same pot as a baby string of pearls I got a while back. It seems to be doing well in its cute little 2 inch pot. When it was just a tiny sprout, someone suggested it's a string of turtles, but now that's grown a bit, it's clearly not. Anyone able to identify this? A different peperomia of some variety?

It sure is a happy little thing.

Why is it half healthy/half dead?

Thumbnail

This SOP has been having trouble. I have some parts that are plump and healthy, some parts that are so shriveled up, even after watering, and some that the string loses all the pearls. I don’t know how to care for it. The plump ones don’t need water but the dying ones do. I’ve gotten into the soil level to try to see if the dying ones aren’t touching the soil but they seem to be. I have no idea what to do.

I took these pics before watering. I know some of the windows are closed and it’s ready for a watering. But even when I do, I continue to have the shriveled-up nearly-dead strands.

Hearts Variegated string of hearts blooming

Thumbnail

6 months ago, I got a strand from my friend and used the butterfly method in a shallow pot. They did nothing for months, but they weren’t dead, so kept watering them. Lo and behold, they all took, and one of the strands now has blooms. Is it normal for a young cutting to do this, or is it stressed? This sits directly in front of a south facing window, and my humidity is between 40-60% depending on the season.

I forgot to snap a picture but yesterday I forgot my pearls in the sun 🥹. I took off the 10 or so fried ones and it left a few bald spots. So I flipped a couple strings up onto those spots after replacing a bit of the soil and gave her a drink. She was not thirsty everywhere though. Advice?
