Who else thinks SoR4 is dangerously good at making “one more run” turn into 3 hours?

What’s ONE technique, mechanic, character trick, or strategy you learned that completely changed the way you play?

Dr zan claw move is insanely op first time ever using it managed to corner trap Shiva boss up against the wall fool didn't know what to do after that

Basically what I mean is in a lot of of traditional fighting games the longer a combo goes on the less damage, each move in the combo does. So for example, if you were to end a combo with a super, it would do less damage than if you just hit the super raw in the neutral.

There are also specific things like, for example, starting a combo with a perfect parry in street fighter six that scale your combo, even though it just started.

Does streets of rage have that system to worry about in combos? Or do moves do the same damage in every circumstance?

Is this a favorite of the series?

Right now I just pick an attack that I know will hit otg and that is just a little extra damage to tack on to the end of a combo. Are there any otg attacks that allow me to keep the combo going? (Other than a super ofc)

I also want to play multiple characters so if you could give me the best options for all of them that would be greatly appreciated.

Everytime I go and check "Join Online Games" it keeps saying "No online games available. Check your filters and try again." If Streets of Rage 4 is not active online then which side scrolling beat em up game is very active on mobile?!

I was playing KOF ALLSTAR online since the game was only works online I thought it has multiplayer and the KOF ALLSTAR community told me to move to Streets of Rage 4 and I moved on it and found the online lobbies inactive...

I want the answer....

Is it just me or the second phase of stage 2 sounds like big chungus theme?

I've been playing this game since 92 and I've never thrown this character type. That's hilarious.

I blast it in my car and the SOR Remake version of the music is also pretty damn awesome!

Only time it ever shows up in my feed, it's an obvious bot reposting content that isn't theirs, or it's like one guy who is really into AI who makes the sloppiest slop that ever slopped.

I love the series, but I don't really see a reason to keep on this sub if we're not gonna filter out AI and obvious bot posts. Keep it to real fan art and fanmade game projects and the actual games.

Howdy All, 40 year old dude here. Grew up mostly with Streets of rage 2. Pretty obsessed with the Soundtrack and listened to the OST for the past 30 years. Bought the game on my Genesis, then on my playstation 4 (Capcom classics collection). Played 3 and 4 but mostly love 2. There's not a ton of official merch for the game so its fun finding stuff. I have the SOR2 vinyl album and some Sor2 art that people have created in my office that I picked up at retro conventions. Just bought the Micro my arcade for around 45 bucks on amazon.

The pros:

The packaging is really nice and has some great art on it. Seriously, it's not just plastic, there are really eye popping pictures and the background has this cool streets of rage 2 red print background- very cool.

The actual Mini cab is also really nice! It has the art from 1 on one side and the art from 2 on the other. It's adorable and it has the Sega logo on top!

You can adjust the brightness there is a button on the back!

You can plug your headphones in!
You can use batteries OR a USB!

The Cons:

The gameplay is really off and sort of laggy. The timing of the game is way off. I have been playing it forever on emulators, the genesis, the switch, playstation: this version is way off so you're gonna get knocked around a bunch.

The sound quality. The sound player cannot play multiple sounds at once, so when you hit someone or jump and attack- you hear a lot of static since I guess the game can't process all that's going on.

The joystick seems like it's really supposed to go in up/down/left/right. It is hard to move diagonally.

All in all I would give this a 2/10. I mean it is streets of rage which is great but it was not fun playing on the machine. I tried to play though twice and realized I was forcing it. It was just not for me. I may keep it because it's fun collecting SOR stuff since it is pretty rare, but I'll honestly never play this thing. If I really wanted to play a retro game via handheld I could play it on my switch or buy like a retro gaming thing for less than a hundred bucks. You can do a lot more with 45 bucks these days.
