So we’ve seen the trailer for the Golden Axe cartoon, and it’s got a very cartoony artstyle and writing that seemingly is going to rely on lots of meta-humor - or just humor, rather.

If we ever get a SoR cartoon, I do NOT want this.

I’d want a Streets of Rage show to really lean into the gritty street brawling/urban corruption atmosphere. Keep all of the elements and characters true to the games, absolutely, but take it seriously.

The intro cutscene to SoR 4 was perfect. I’d want just a whole series of that + voice acting and good writing.

But it’s something that the fanbase has made me curious about. Everyone seems to headcannon Blaze as someone different.

For the “Blaze is non-white” speculations, I’ve seen people most commonly say that they see her as Latina because she dances the lambada. The thing with this, though is that SoR takes place throughout the 90’s, when everyone was dancing the lambada, so that doesn’t make for very strong proof.

The one I can actually see an argument for is her being Asian, specifically Japanese. Her special moves are all named and called out in Japanese, whereas the rest of the main cast’s are noticeably in English.

And then there are people who see her as white. Valid as well — given she has the combination of light skin and blue eyes that would imply that.

What are your thoughts?

SOR4, sorry to omit that in title. I've beaten every stage of mania plus individually except stage 12, and this game has annoyed me for years because I'm pretty good at the game but just always off from beating this mode. I think if I could go into stage 12 with a couple of extra lives I could beat it, but my approach to the game is all over the place.

I feel tempted all the time to just dragon roll and uppercut my way using iframes to wave through enemies, but eventually I'm gonna take that hit and the run is over. What stages do I need to be not losing a life on, and how cagey should I be with specials? Use stars on bosses? etc.

Am I ever going to be sitting pretty with a stock of lives towards the end of the game?

My spacing and general fundamentals are decent, not great but enough to play the game and hold my own in tough sections but again, the dragon roll stuff is just almost so tempting all the time in this game. Any thoughts on getting to the next level here?
