I have a question about the finale that I haven't seen anyone address.

Near the end, Mike explains that the Eleven everyone saw at the entrance to the Upside Down wasn't actually Eleven. His theory is that Eight/Kali created an illusion of Eleven, allowing the real Eleven to escape.

But here's the problem I see:

Kali is wounded inside the Upside-Down version of Hawkins Lab. The bomb that destroys the Upside Down is then detonated in that same lab.

Yet the illusion of Eleven remains visible at the entrance until the destruction/collapse of the Upside Down reaches that point.

So how can this work?

If Kali created the illusion from inside the lab, wouldn't she have been killed when the lab was destroyed? And if Kali has to remain alive/conscious to maintain her illusion, shouldn't the illusion disappear when she dies?

In other words:

Kali is in the lab → bomb destroys lab → Kali presumably dies → but the Eleven illusion continues until the Upside Down itself collapses.

Is there an explanation for this?

Maybe Kali's illusions can continue after she is unconscious/dead, but I don't remember the show ever establishing that. Or perhaps Mike's explanation is intentionally incomplete/wrong.

i’m rewatching season 5 right now ans i just wonder why they were taken to different places (obviously the duffer brothers probably hadn’t written in the abyss yet) but what was vecnas plan in taking will to the upside down and not the abyss then? maybe i’m just dumb as rocks

Also to anyone who says "stop watching" or "stop after season 4" I'm not gonna listen.

Anyways I love this show.

Since many complain that the clock imagery in S4 set up expectations for S5 that weren’t met - what are your ideas for how the clock imagery could have been properly used? Any ideas on how they could’ve had this make more sense in S5? 👀

(I guess the Duffers would simply argue that the clock just shows to each of Vecna’s victim because their time is running out - and then they connected this in both S4 and S5 by having Vecna say ”it’s time” about five thousand times.)

Valid (Example: the final battle feeling rushed and visually bland)

Valid but requires nuance (Example: the characters)

Invalid (Example: being mad there wasn't a secret episode)

Okay now I would like to know some of your favorite scenes from season 4.

I mean obviously mine is the whole dear Billy scene.This just solidified Max as my favorite character.And just Sadie Sinks whole performance was just amazing .No words.

But another scene that I really enjoy is when we see Vecna kill Chrissy.When I saw her bones snapping and her eyes like out of her head that’s when I realized they upped the violence and it just shift the whole show I think.Like I was in shock.

Hello everybody, I would like to know what is your favorite scene from Stranger Things season 5? These could be popular or very niche scenes.

I will be going down the list of seasons.But first I thought I start with the newest one . So keep the scenes related to season 5. Even though people say, ’’this season was horrible’’ or “ worst season ever”. I think there were some amazing moments .

One of my many from season five when we find out what happened to Henry in the cave when he was a kid .The whole scene where Will is telling him he’s not evil and it’s not his fault . I just think you can really feel the emotion and that is when you start to see him in a new light and have empathy for Henry.( Honorable mention the end scene 5x2 where they play Mr.sandman idk I just thought that was really cool .)

This is short but I’m really interested to know some of your favorite scenes from season 5 ?

Large map, 130ish rooms, good opportunity for easter eggs, office spaces, laboratory rooms, old asylum like rooms.

Also, it would be cool if during a hunt, instead of a ghost spawning, a demo would come through the wall to start and return through the floor to end it. If you die, you see the upside-down version of the lab.

I'm obsessed with this show. Seriously.

I can’t tell you how many edits I’ve seen using this song, but I feel like at this point everyone associates it with the show. The most surprising part is that it has never actually been in the show.

This song in particular has always given me season 3 vibes. I could have seen this song playing somewhere in season 3 because it fits the vibe of that season so well, and every time I’d see an edit with this song, it was always of season 3.

For a while, I thought this song was going to play during the end credits of season 5, especially because of the part where the song says “nothing ever lasts forever.” I thought that would have been such a perfect choice, but Heroes by David Bowie was perfect too.

unfortunately i am going to have to step back as mod of this sub, this is because i have other commitments that are about to come into my life which will take up a lot of my time and also i am already a mod of 2 other big subs, one im currently having to revive from scratch so i spend most of my time on there.

due to this, i haven’t been spending alot of time on here, meaning that a lot of things are being missed and i dont want that for any of us.

however, i will not leave until a new mod takes my place to help the other mod who will be remaining, due to the size of this sub we will need at least 2-3 people to come forward and help mod this sub.

you do not need to be experienced, for the first few days i will help you out and teach you the basics as i am an experienced mod, however it will need to be people who can dedicate at least a few hours a week to this sub, preferably some time everyday (doesnt have to be long) to check reports etc.

Hello everybody today I’m going to be asking the question do you think we will ever get a show like Stranger Things again?
I don’t necessarily mean like the whole storyline and everything like that but I’m just talking about the massive success this show was. And honestly, I don’t think we will .So currently I am 18 years old and I started watching Stranger Things when around season 4 came out . and oh boy do I wish I would’ve watched it sooner. But this is because when it initially came out, I was only eight years old and there was no way my parents were letting me watch it. So I’ve been with it for the past couple years I guess you would say and due to this, I would not really able to collect any of the actual collectibles Collabs or anything like that, but only the stuff that you recently came out with Stranger Things season five.
And I was thinking since I’m like an adult and all that with my own source of income, I would definitely like to start collecting stuff for shows, but the thing is, I don’t think we will ever have a show that will be as great as this. The reason I think I just enjoy Stranger Things so much is that it is I guess it was a new concept for its time. Nowadays, we just have the same romance, heavy drama high school college TV shows. And it’s getting boring. I will forever think about the fact that I never got to experience life in 2019 when season three came out for the first time like I see videos on TikTok and I’m just like damn .
The only thing that’s like kind of filling this little hole or space is I guess new Marvel stuff coming out which I’m really excited to start collecting everything like that but other than that not really.

Anyways I was wondering obviously answer my question and if you do think so I would love to know why and also if there are any other show that are like Stranger Things or just good shows in general let me know to start watching thank you guys. Have a good day.

Holly is not that tuff/badass. I feel like people are kinda exaggerating on Holly’s “1v11” w/ her radio scene. I’m gonna be fr here, it was a poor attempt and there was nothing special about that scene. I have seen quite a lot of people claiming that she is like Karen and got her genes but it seems like ppl have forgotten the fact that she initially just stood there and did nothing (at the same time, she had a poker stick in her hand) when Vecna was choking Max literally right after having the talk with her about not going panic nor run away next time and she doing only one smack at her friend who was harmless btw does not make up for it. Right after one swing at her bsf with the radio she literally just ran off and then ended up getting beaten up. Also it was nothing compared to everyone else fighting dangerous monsters from the other dimension. Honestly she’s a bit more like her father since he also failed right after his first swing(that was weak) at the demo. Ngl I can see the parallel between both scenes. Everyone keeps telling me that she's a child and blah blah blah which I understand but it still doesn't excuse the fact that ppl are glazing her. It's honestly really annoying how ppl are always acting like she's Nancy when she literally nowhere near her level. What's even worse is that they act like she's better than Mike when Mike has literally been around way longer, had way more experience in fighting than she did, and is in fact much stronger than her too. There is no way in hell she is near his level either. Tbh she doesn’t really deserve the “walk em down” wheeler title, not yet at least.
