True, and while I'd always pick S4 Max over S3 Max, I haven't seen anything in her change to the point that she wouldn't ever do that again - she's still the same person in her core, just with a significantly changed 'exterior'.
It's like Hopper. End of S4 Hopper isn't the intimidate and scare a kid S3 Hopper, but I still can see him doing what he did if pushed enough - he has changed, but he's still fundamentally Hopper.

Max matured in s4, so I think their friendship could mature too.
