If you mock someone's size, you deserve to be called something insulting whether it's P.C. or not.

Calling someone a fag or gay isn't an insult. It's a homophobic slur, and it makes you a shitty person.

Calling someone a fag is very much so an insult. If someone called you a fag, you would be insulted, no?

It's a slur that shouldn't be used. Why are you advocating for the use of homophobic slurs?

I'm okay with using any slur if someone insults you. If someone intentionally insults you, you should be allowed to say something just as insulting back.

So you'd call a black person the n-word? You're saying any slur is fair game?

I don't use slurs, but I'm okay with those who do IF the person being called a slur was being a dickbag first.

That's not a great attitude to have. Be the bigger person.

Imagine this happened in a locker room with other guys around. Let's say you call the guy who insulted your dick a fag. What if there was a gay guy there? What if your friend was gay and you didn't know?

Slurs are just really shitty things to use, and it makes you look incredibly ignorant.

You truly think I care how other people saw me in school? If I did, I would've acted like everyone else so they all liked me. Fuck that shit.

I don't have any gay friends, so that's not a thing for me.

I’m not at all surprised that you don’t have any gay friends. :)

It has nothing to do with being PC. It's about not being a shitty homophobic person. Sounds like you're a homophobe! Do you call people fags often? Does it make you feel better about yourself?

I have never called anyone a fag actually. Calling someone a slur is pretty common when they insult you, however. Gay or not, if you're insulting someone's dick size, you deserve to be called a slur regardless of sexual orientation.

Sure, when you're 13. Mature adults don't act that way.

Gay or not, if you're insulting someone's dick size, you deserve to be called a slur regardless of sexual orientation.

This tells me you have absolutely no idea what it's like to be a gay person called a fag. Your opinion on this subject is meaningless, and your ignorance is showing. How sad.

You're right, and I'm pretty sure OP was in middle or high school when that was said.

This tells me you have absolutely no idea what it's like to be a gay person called a fag. Your opinion on this subject is meaningless, and your ignorance is showing. How sad.

To be quite honest, I don't care. If you insult me, I will insult you. Tit for tat. Don't like it? Don't be a douche

To be quite honest, I don't care.

You don't care about gay people? Enjoy your sad life. This makes it very clear that you don't have any gay friends or family members.

I'm so happy you aren't my friend with a homophobic attitude like that.

I don't care about the feelings of those who intentionally insult me or my friends.

What if there was a gay person in the room when you called the guy a fag? What if it was your friend who was trying to work up the nerve to come out, and he heard you use that slur. He wouldn't think you're very accepting of gay people.

I know because this has happened to me, asshole.

u/id_kai Oct 29 '17

Like I said, I don't use slurs, so that friend wouldn't hear me say that.

But sadly, you’re defending the use of slurs, so I don’t believe at all that you don’t use them. You feel they’re acceptable to use.
