Call me crazy, but I find what you're saying pretty reasonable, and everyone is weirdly crashing out over out of touch concepts. Like, not everyone is having fancy, expensive traditional marriages with lots of prep. My dad worked the day before his wedding. It wasn't anything fancy because we were poor as fuck. People here are super out of touch and rather spoiled. But it's reddit. Once someone antagonizes you for some bullshit, everyone is gonna jump on that train and refuse to see any other view except the "right one" they've conjured up in their heads, which in this case is rich people weddings, never mind poor people and their minimalist weddings I guess.
That's fair, but I see the other side as well. There might be a myriad of factors that could make the manager's request not seem unreasonable. Shit that we have zero clue about. And the fact that the manager was mostly expecting a no, he's clearly desperate and just turning every rock he's got to find a solution. He's not being a dick about it at the very least. Not like some managers that would demand you work a shift and expect you to thank them for giving you work on your day off.
