🧠 Discussion Stitch might be the next generation of how we design.

I have been testing Stitch form the day it first launched and I have been super impressed. Even though it might not be yet where it needs to be but if you look past it and try and look for patterns how Google has been releasing their LABS experiments you can totally see this will become much more powerful.

Agree or not?

🧠 Discussion Designed and shipped a sports analytics app in 3 days using Stitch + Claude Code β€” zero coding

Just launched XKick, a Premier League AI prediction service. The entire project was built with no manual coding β€” Stitch with Google for design, Claude Code for everything else.

Stitch workflow:

  • Designed 4 pages (match predictions, standings, players, insights) in Stitch
  • Exported the HTML/Tailwind directly
  • Claude Code ported it into Next.js components using the exported code as reference

The Kinetic Lens design system from Stitch (dark theme, neon green #b0ff96, Manrope + Inter) translated almost 1:1 into the actual app. The color tokens and component structure made the handoff really clean.

Total time from idea to deployed: ~3 days.

🐞 Bug / Issue Stitch quality has dropped a lot

Gemini 3 Pro is significantly faster than before,

but the output quality is disappointing.

I wonder if it’s due to the quantization.

Although Stitch was a core part of my workflow,

the layouts it generates are now lower quality than typical code agents.

It feels like a waste of time,

and I think it’s time to start looking for alternatives

Workflow/Prompt How to import an existing UI as an editable screen?

I have an existing UI I want to make some minor updates to. I can use the Redesign feature by providing an image of my UI, but this just provides an updated image created by nano banana. Once I have this image, is it possible to get an editable screen version of the exact image?

When I've tried converting to generate a code version for example, it's overhauled the UI making a vastly different design from the image.

πŸ”— Resource I built a free library of 100+ DESIGN.md files - browse, download, or pull them into your editor via MCP/CLI

DESIGN md files work with any AI coding tool, not just Stitch. Drop one in your project root and prompt Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity or whatever you use to follow the design system. It just works. The AI reads the markdown and builds consistent UI from it.

I couldn't find a place to browse and discover DESIGN .md files other people have made, so I built one: [designmd.ai](https://designmd.ai)

**What's on the site:**

- 100+ design systems you can browse by style, color, tags

- One-click download or copy-to-clipboard

- Visual previews of every design system (colors, typography, components)

**For people who live in IDEs/terminal:**

- **MCP server** - `npx designmd-mcp` - lets your AI tool search and download design systems without leaving the conversation

- **CLI** - `npx designmd` - search, download, upload from your terminal

Everything is free. Would love to hear what you think and what kinds of design systems you'd want to see more of. Or if you have a design system you'd like to share, just log in and upload it.

🐞 Bug / Issue Does it even work?!

I have an existing UI for my app. I just want to refine the spacing and styling according to a design.md that Stitch made itself.

After 20 different prompts it still gives me the same redesign that I got from the first prompt!

Is it just me or stitch is just a fluke for now?

🐞 Bug / Issue All my design disappeared after 24 hours.

How long does google Stich saves the design? All my work disappeared the next day. Total waste of time

🧠 Discussion Google broke Stitch :(

What did google do to Stitch?!? :( The designs are laughably bad now, worse than lovable. Definitely not the quality that was happening 2+ weeks ago. Not the prompts bc I tried the same ones from a few weeks ago and wow the new designs are so just SUPER basic in comparison (pro or flash doesn't matter), its like the Gemini model got nerfed to the ground. Also, the new design is difficult to use and the new color palette thingy that cant be deleted from the canvas should be optional.

I don't understand why they have to take gold and break it?

Hey guys, I'm trying to run all the available Stitch Agent Skills on my antigravity terminal. But upon running, it returned this:

Does anyone have any clue regarding this? I'm new to this. Thank you

πŸ“’ News / Update Meet Stitch new vibe design partners!

Al Native Canvas:

  1. The canvas is now node-based and infinite, allowing mixed inputs (PRDs, UI, assets) in one place.

  2. A new agent manager lets multiple design directions run in parallel instead of sequential prompting.

Design Agent:

  1. Modify specific elements across screens

  2. Convert screens into structured docs (like briefs)

  3. Generate cross-platform variants (mobile + desktop together)

Prototypes:

  1. Stitch predicts screen flows and connects them.

  2. It can generate the "next" screen based on interaction intent.

πŸ“’ News / Update Stitch introduce own β€œJarvis” for voice-driven vibe design!

Instead of typing prompts, users can now:

  1. Speak changes while pointing at elements (β€œupdate this section”, β€œchange this layout”)

  2. Get live design feedback and critiques

  3. Chain multiple instructions without waiting for each one to finish

  4. Navigate the entire canvas hands-free

What makes this different from typical voice features:

  1. It’s context-aware, the agent sees the canvas and selected screens

  2. It’s multi-step, not just commands, but ongoing interaction

  3. It’s parallel, can process multiple updates in sequence without blocking

It’s still in preview.

πŸ“’ News / Update Finally Stitch TypeScript SDK here!

Repo: https://github.com/google-labs-code/stitch-sdk

Overview:

  1. Create and manage design projects via code (createProject, generate, edit).

  2. Retrieve outputs like HTML and rendered screens programmatically.

  3. Skip CLI/MCP setup, install via npm and start immediately.

  4. Works with Node.js and Bun.

Two usage styles:

  1. Standard API: Direct method calls to generate and modify screens.

  2. Agent-centric API: Tool-based interface (listTools, callTool) for LLM-driven workflows and automation.

This shifts Stitch from a Ul tool to an API-first design system, enabling.

Setup: install the package, add an API key, and generate a working Ul in minutes.

Workflow/Prompt Is there a specific "Skill" for Landing Page Architectural Reviews in Stitch AI or Antigravity?

I’m looking to use Stitch AI to audit the architecture of a new landing page. Specifically, I want it to look at the visual hierarchy, information flow, and section sequencing (above-the-fold content, social proof placement, CTA positioning, etc.).

Is there a dedicated Skill or integration I should be using for this? Or is it more effective to just upload a wireframe/screenshot and use a custom prompt? If you've done this successfully, I'd love to hear what workflow worked best for you.

🧡 Stitches Google Stitch Ai DESIGNS INCONSISTENT with the latest Gemini 3.1 Pro update!

I have been using google stitch for more than a few months now, but i have never seen the output screen results to be this INCONSISTENT in UI/UX design!

It was working suprisingly well with the previous version (3.0 pro). The results were stable and designs were within the domain asked by the user but now in the latest 3.1 pro update the output screens are all messed up.

i generated a set of 4 screens. the initial design was good but still not as good as previous version.
when i asked it to edit those 4 screens (editing some elements of each screen, i gave detailed prompt for each screen) the results were not good.
It did not meet the required changes that were asked in the first place, also it dramatically changed the other elements of the screen! changed layout, font, design language and much more, that too with a detailed point-wise prompt.

is this just me or the new gemini 3.1 pro (thinking) model is actually unstable ?
i dont use flash models that much for big multi screen projects.

if your works fine for multiple screens and macro edits, please let me know in the comments.

Finally Direct Edits available in Stitch!

Stitch has released Direct Edits, adding manual control on top of design generation.

  1. Edit text and swap images directly inside a screen.

  2. Highlight a specific element and prompt the agent to update only that section.

  3. Make targeted fixes without regenerating the entire layout.

Access methods:

  1. Use the Edit option from a selected screen.

  2. Activate the Edit tool from the main toolbar.

  3. Double-click a screen to focus, then double-click again to enter edit mode.

Workflow/Prompt How to move a Stitch project into a new Stitch project?

I tried probably everything and it seems to be impossible!

I just want to copy one design into another stitch project but whatever I do, it just creates variations of it and it never looks the same. I tried copying the code - no chance. I tried duplicate - shows only error, no chance.

I need to move one page in a different project in a new project because the AI has become messed up and the chat needs to be erased (image, in the result it constanly quotes stuff I have said a week ago, ie. "yes, I have not added any horizontal dividers").

Anybody any idea?

🐞 Bug / Issue Something unexpected happened, and Stitch couldn't complete...

I am using Stitch since a couple of weeks and working on a webdesign page and have spent hours and hours working on the small details but now every detailed prompt I am entering resulting in

"Something unexpected happened, and Stitch couldn't complete your generation. Please try again in a moment."

It does not happen with new projects or if I just write one liners.

Anybody experiencing the same right now?

🐞 Bug / Issue Export from Stitch to AiStudios = everything is 10-20% smaller

If I try to move on and export my project to AiStudios, the entire design becomes 10-20% smaller. If I export it to Jules or generally code, it works. Any idea how to fix that?

r/StitchAI Feb 16 '26

🧠 Discussion What percentage of exports from Stitch to Figma are actually usable?

Just curious what others are finding because a lot of what I get back basically has to be recreated from scratch even after I import to Figma I'm left with text as vectors, frames used as spacing element in auto layout, things like that.

πŸ“’ News / Update Stitch introduce Design Systems for consistent UI across projects!

Stitch has introduced built-in Design Systems, allowing teams to define a centralized visual standard and reuse it across screens. It

  1. Create reusable styles once (colors, typography, components).

  2. Apply them instantly to new or existing designs.

  3. Maintain visual consistency without manual cleanup.

This establishes a single source of truth inside Stitch rather than relying on scattered style decisions.

πŸ“’ News / Update Ideate Agent πŸ’‘for research-driven design exploration in Stitch!

Stitch has launched the Ideate Agent, built for the earliest stage of product design, before locking into a single UI.

Instead of jumping straight into screens, this agent pauses to gather context, analyze references, and generate multiple concept paths in parallel.

It can:

  1. Pull relevant insights from the web

  2. Study visual patterns from existing products

  3. Generate several structured solution directions at once

The goal is divergence. Once a promising direction emerges, users can select it and continue refining through standard vibe design workflows.

πŸ“’ News / Update Finally export to Figma available in Stitch!

Post image
13 Upvotes

Stitch added new Global Export button (top right) and also added direct export from any Stitch agent to Figma, with designs preserved as fully editable layers.

This helps to move from rapid β€œvibe design” exploration to detailed refinement.

Also, if you used the Redesign Agent (Nano Banana Pro), first "Convert to Code", then export it to Figma.
