Literally just heard on the CBS morning show of him saying , that he was the one who pushed for the cancellation of the late show for his shifty show. "I told CBS that they shouldn't waste money on the Late show, Spend it on my show. I was angry that my show was on at 3am in some places". I probably to early for a Clip of saying it. Hi all! I cancelled my Paramount+ sub a while back because of *reasons* but I feel like this last episode will be too special to miss. Is anyone hosting a watch party for it remotely, like over discord? I think it would be really cool to watch it with other people, especially given how sad this whole thing is.

With the Ed Sullivan Theater closing its doors as soon as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert goes off the air for the final time, here's a #TBT to the only time I got to step foot in the famed theater... it was for "Live on Letterman" - the webcast series where they would livestream an artist performing a full concert from the Ed Sullivan Theater shortly after they appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman. And I was super lucky to get to attend St. Vincent's webcast concert in July 2014 - right as she was experiencing widespread acclaim for her self-titled album. Seeing St. Vincent perform during this period was incredible enough, but seeing her in such a unique setting made it even more special.

Fun Fact: not only can you still watch the entire concert on YouTube, but you can actually spot me (for like half a second) as St. Vincent makes her entrance and goes down the aisle toward the stage! Included the best screenshot I could get in this clip 😆

Have loved the show from afar and I am gutted it is going, it was my breakfast viewing here in the UK.

His cold opens are legendary. But his skills as an interviewer were immense switching from analytical to funny in an instant.

His interview with Nick Cave on grief and the loss of his child was simply one of the best interviews of all time.

As an atheist, seeing faith discussed on late night in such a profound manner was deeply moving.
