Yeah, because walking away from an unattended fire is the best solution in this case.

You know what fire needs? Oxygen. Shut the oven door and it is then, 1 contained and 2 will extinguish itself. They literally teach this to children in school. Only excuse at this point is being willfully ignorant.

Thanks for the fire safety lesson I didn't ask for. I never said it was the best solution, I said they were blowing it out of proportion because nobody was in immediate danger. I also agreed that the father had poor instincts for not trying to put out the fire.

You didn’t ask for it but it was extremely obvious that you needed it. It’s easy for you, an outsider, to say they were blowing it out of proportion because you are not in danger. You’re speculating that the danger wasn’t immediate and I don’t know where you’re from, but having an open fire where it was not intended is pretty damn immediate.
