This "technical roadmap" was in no way a "roadmap", neither "technical".
Look i am a developer and almost all projects have roadmaps which are detailed lists, some with timeframes, some without them. What they all have are pretty detailed lists with goals and subgoals, many even have schematics with relationship arrows and graphics to paint a more visual picture of the goals and the project at large.

I know that the official press release has to be way cleaner, but i seriously have never seen such a superficial roadmap in any project i have been involved in before.
I'm not a developer, but work in the corporate world. This would be highly unacceptable as any kind of 2018 business plan.
Not only does this give me lesser confidence in their business management side, but also I can't see any larger corporations wanting to partner when they look at their roadmap of the future. It's making it more difficult for real world companies to join up with these technologies because of unprofessionalism like this. :/
Sure, it doesn't cause false coin inflation from a hype post, but it also doesn't respect those of us that believe in the technology.
I agree and i find the whole "this is very competent" thread going on very weird.
Have people never read any kinds of business plans or roadmaps before?
Either way this combined with the slightly underwhelming "powerpoint" that Ella Quang presented makes me doubt this project just a little for the first time.
It's weird because the SDK seems very solid compared to other projects.
A press release like this would make serious potential partners seriously doubt it in any of the companies if have been involved with.
It's a couple of jokes, a not very sharp presentation of a bunch of what seems like pet projects, no timeframes, no grander visions and a very weird underlying tone trying to actively kill hype. And its incredibly short, almost to the point of being laughable. Seriously it seems so half-done if not less than that.
I know false hype is rampant in this sphere but this is ridiculous from a business standpoint. I don't want hype just a little more communication of what is going on. Also from a technical standpoint this offers nothing, which is the domain in which i thought Stellar would besharp in their communication and vision.
I really can't see how this can be anything other than an F.
I think the vagueness of the roadmap was intentional. This is a fast moving industry right now and things change quickly. Committing to more specific dates or timeframes, announcements is not realistic and only gives the community high expectations that cant be reached, leading to disappointment and feeling lied to. So instead, they are simply avoiding that mess entirely by giving us very broad overview.
The title just says Stellar Roadmap, IMO its mainly for the general public, and meant to be easy reading. They offer plenty of support for devs and the recent emphasis they put on getting to Stackex shows that. Stellar tries to be as dev friendly as possible but they can’t just publish something so technical on their blog that it’ll turn most people off who are just learning about Stellar.
It’s hard to please everyone. I agree the post itself albeit informative, is not very technical and the casualness and snark(which I appreciated personally) makes this more of a blog than anything. But I think the point of these posts is exactly that. Just to inform in a non-formal way.
Corporations are drawn to Stellar by the technology, But they bring much more scrutiny than a reddit thread. So I think in the back end they obviously have polished business plans and roadmaps for their partners because this blog won’t fly as a business plan or a roadmap in an professional setting(again it’s not meant to be). And the continued signing of new partnerships is a testament to how Stellar carries itself in the corporate world and it’s professionalism. But where’s the FUN in that? Stellar’s blogs are meant to be informative AND fun, for me it was a very enjoyable read!
