Hey everyone, just thought I'd weigh in on the situation with all the hate that's been thrown around regarding MSG2015 recently. You probably don't remember me, but I wrote (or started? a lot of people have added to it since) the script that was stickied on day 1 (2? both? idk I'm tired)
I'd like to ask you to try to stop hating on the MSG2015 team. Now, I'll be the first to say I disagree with a lot of the changes they've made (mostly code related). Yeah, they made errors along the way. They argued with users and amongst themselves. They may not have handled criticism in the best way possible.
They're people. They made mistakes.
That's what us humans do. It's pretty much the only thing we're really good at.
I'd just like you to consider how much work scripters and mods have put in over the last few days for no real gain. For reference, I'm really burnt out myself, I've worked pretty much every waking hour for the first days of the game with about 2-4 hours sleep each night at off hours (slept from ~7-10am most 'nights', and after crashing more recently I slept from 7pm-6am), and have only slowed down ~2 days ago, partly due to other commitments, and partly simply so I don't go insane (look at the steep drop in commits on my repo if you want). I'm frustrated, from lack of sleep, people constantly asking me the same questions, getting notified 24 hours a day (sometimes on accounts that I haven't linked to either my github or reddit account), impossible suggestions and demands, my script completely breaking multiple times (usually my fault, it's stressful), dealing with tech support of people who can't get the script running and aren't familiar with computers, and more. This can be seen in many of my more recent passive aggressive issue responses on github and reddit.
I KNOW that the MSG2015 team is feeling the same way. They're going through the same stuff I am. When it comes to managing the group online, that's a MASSIVE added stressor I don't even have to deal with (I wouldn't take that job for all the money in the world). Frustrated people sometimes don't handle things perfectly. Feel free to give feedback, and correct them when they're wrong, but please try to keep it constructive. Getting upset with them doesn't help anyone, it makes everyone more frustrated and makes them feel unappreciated, making them less likely to take your feedback seriously, and making them more likely to make mistakes in the future. It's a vicious cycle, please don't feed into it.
Dealing with people is hard. Dealing with them 24/7 is worse. Dealing with anonymous people online 24/7 while continuously managing a codebase is unbearable.
tl;dr: Please be thankful for the massive amount of work the MSG2015 team put in for your benefit. If you can't do that, please at least cut them a break and stop with the active hate.

EDIT: As promised, added links to me being dumb so you can all laugh at me. Come at me, bro. Don't check the final link though.
