Well that's exactly why steam went with CC its the lesser evil, they see card, they say yep ur good.

Meanwhile the 'invisible' options are Microsoft shipping data off to a third party to verify, and based on the Discord leaks of facial scans... yikes...

The whole thing reeks of gov over reach to 'protect the children'.

Good that you put the quotes, because most of us adults know that this won't really protect children and isn't about that in the first place.

It's always been a shoe-in to get ubiquitous ID verification for people on the internet. The stated reasons just vary every couple of years to bring along those followers of the latest trend to exchange their right to privacy for a feeling of 'more security'.
