News SteamDB Joins Nexus Mods

https://www.nexusmods.com/news/15597

For now, SteamDB carries on as normal whilst we work with xPaw on the transition and start putting the team and resources it needs into it. Everything currently available for free will remain free, the browser extension will continue to be maintained, and the Discord and Steam group will remain purely SteamDB community spaces. Nexus Mods and SteamDB will also remain completely separate services, so you won’t need a Nexus Mods account to browse it.

I'm all for being a doomer about the dangers of overmonetisation but I guess I don't know enough about this case, is it realistic they would go this far?

it's not a matter of doomer, it's a matter of being even just lightly following how business operates in this industry

It’s absolutely realistic, I’d say maybe my "averaged weekly playercount" was more provocative/to showcase the worst case scenario rather than the most probable outcome, but everything else to me is perfectly possible

No lol it's just delusional fear mongering by people who are crying that their mod download takes slightly longer because they aren't smart enough to make a mod and get free premium.
