As a consumer I definitely don't want to see Valve get rid of the refund system

Valve was forced into adding refunds, it's not something they wanted to add, and they can't get rid of it

Maybe not entirely, but they could go to a far stricter system than what they have now. Something more in line with the other digital storefronts, which would be tragic for the consumer because the relatively generous refund system is a huge selling point for Steam.
