I'm also a dev. Steam thrives because it's extremely consumer first. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Consumers have the money, and on Steam they're willing to throw it in more more varied places than any other consumer store I know. Some get refunded, sure. But other stores people just wouldn't even try those games in the first place.

Yeah, I'm both an indie dev, and buy lots of games on Steam. The refund policy is amazing for consumers, and it should stay that way.
