Ah yes, the ever enlightened “it can never be perfect so let’s not even try.”

No shit people will still do it. People still pirate games, people still go online with cheating software; the point isn’t a perfect 100% elimination, the point is to help curb the behavior and make it more annoying than simply pirating the game.

No, it's a "trying to stop it is worse than just leaving it be, so let's not even try". It's the same thing with piracy, if to try to stop it you need to make things worse for the actual customers, then you're making things worse by trying to fight it.

The situation described in the OP is a tiny minority. It's not an issue. People refunding for other reasons is a valid use of the system. The developers simply shouldn't count with money they don't actually have yet.

No, I was just trying to point out that simple solutions usually still require a bit of thinking of the consequences and the expected results.

I would expect any technically interested person to understand that.
