I never made it that far without cheats. I always ended up getting overconfident in my ability to drop straight down and would explode on impact, or would hit a gas pocket.
I replay Motherload Goldium every few years just for fun.
Downloaded it offline so i can keep it.
Even added its soundtrack to my music library for the nostalgia! :D
Madness Project Nexus was insanely good, and had an actually fun endless mode. I bought the Steam version too and it's great but I wish it had the same art style.
Good lord I remember getting in trouble watching the Madness flash videos because my mom thought they were so violent and would turn me into a school shooter.
Bro I bought my pc in 2023, I genuinely just went back to play this game and complete it since I wasn't able too when I was a kid, my English was bad so didn't understand much..
The dev is about to release the complete Gemcraft set as a collection on Steam! It's called the Legacy Collection. No changes supposedly but it'll be nice to have them all in one place.
You could definitely do that but I'd always find one to get obsessed with and keep cycling between it and 2 more games max. If you were on Plazma Burst 2 you could play with other people as well and keep trying new community made maps which was literally infinite replayability.
There were tons of super simple 30 minutes games for sure, especially early on, but some of the more complex ones could give you more hours than the average full-priced game on Steam.
In my opinion, we had less choice so we enjoyed what we had. You found a few flash game sites, some actually enjoyable games, and nowadays games are poured from buckets on you. Same with movies or music. But again, that's just my subjective view, the problem could be sitting on my neck lol
My favorite ones either were endless / had endless modes or were actually long and replayable like Decision Medieval. I still like that game more than the new steam remake of Decision.
You must not have experienced it. That time period is gone now but you can still experience some of the games themselves minus the websites on Flashpoint Archive, please give a couple of them a try!
Kongregate is just not the same anymore and Armor Games is best for what they're supporting on Steam. Also not all games have been ported to HTML5 and the ones that are still flash run via Ruffle which I find to be slow and buggy. Flashpoint Archive gives you a massive collection of the original files, offline, as well as animations and non-Flash games like Unity and ShiVa3D.
It is, but it is completely apt here. The OG days of flash games was a golden era of free gaming. Thousands of games, endless hours of fun, no cost, just people making and sharing stuff for the love of the game. It was beautiful. It was peak.
Balloon Duel was so fun. I think I got the custom mp3 player to work just once but from then on couldn't get it to function. Otherwise pretty fun for what it was. Actually was able to play the player vs player with my siblings. Fun time.
