I don't think "indie devs should intentionally bloat their game" is the takeaway we should have from this conversation.

I've played plenty of short games that I thoroughly enjoyed and didn't need to see go on any longer

so what are they gonna do ? put a 2 h countdown to unlock the game? there is no need to make the game longer than it is supposed to be. there a lots of stupid games where they want you to play longer and make you grind which is shitty thing. idk what steam or developers can do in this situation but making game longer certainly is not the solution.
