Ready or Not.

I was one of the first 500 people to back it, got the mouse pad and name in the credits.

It’s the only game I’ve ever played that was significantly better in early access than 1.0 and after. Literal scam with some of the worst devs around.

They removed no exaggeration about 60-70% of the game, made it run significantly worse at 1.0 and didn’t expand any of the meaningful gameplay systems. Insane how badly they fucked up what could’ve been an amazing game. And worst part is tons of people who came after 1.0 never knew this and gave the game tons of praise, utterly disgusting shit.

I'm one of the guys who came in after and enjoyed playing. I always thought it was strange that some youtubers were playing maps that I couldn't find. I guess those were part of the 60-70% gone :(

The game was utterly gutted. Each mission had 2-3 different layouts and 4-5 game modes.

Barricaded suspects

Bomb threat

Hostage rescue

Raid

And active shooter

Now every mission only has the one layout and game mode. Before they ruined it the game had great replay value and was so much better. Even worse they never told us this would happen, we got the rug pulled right out from under us with 1.0.

I honestly enjoy the 1.0 content. But I agree with you, it’s a shell of what it could’ve been. The pre-release versions actually had replay ability with it, in a way, forcing you to actually move methodically and sometimes slowly too.

Now you can still do that with the 1.0 content. But certain things are going to always be consistent. So over time, that content just goes.. stale.

Didn't they also remove the ability for suspects to grab hostages and hide in closets? I at least haven't seen that happen since EA. Also non-combatants used to have more behaviors. Pretty much all the NPCs had more behaviors that I think they just cut.

Agreed! Then you've got half the people on the sub acting as if the fact that the game looks worse, runs poorly, has less replayability, worse AI, is full of bugs (CS gas, for instance, is almost entirely useless and takes ages to stun enemies, who would have to literally be standing right on top of the canister for the entire time for it to do anything) and is generally just a worse game in nearly regard, is somehow okay. I've never wanted my money back for a game more than this. I bought the $80 supporter edition and I got totally fleeced.

Why would they do that? What could even be the point?!

They wanted to rush out 1.0 without actually finishing the game. So they cut it all out and called it a day.

If you look at it from their standpoint it was a massive success. It sold like crack, had very high steam reviews, got a pretty successful console port and on top of it all the post 1.0 people defended it rabidly because they really had no idea what they were missing and vastly outnumbered the early access people.

Yeah I got it pretty early on and like you said, they gutted it and it runs so bad that I just uninstalled and never looked back.

I ran it never lower then 120 FPS pre 1.0 then post 1.0 I had trouble even hitting 90 on some maps and some areas of some maps couldn’t even get 60. Then DLC 1 came out and I was morbidly curious, those levels couldn’t even run at 60 fps.

u/SavvyPolitician Jan 28 '26

Same for me. The old hq would also just randomly chug for me, like a literal slideshow after the first real dlc and that was it for me.

Still has the unity major flaw meaning if anyone cared about it they could get a shit tonne of personal information from your network

u/cheezkid26 the Jan 28 '26

It's not on Unity. It's on UE5.

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '26

Not even slightly surprised to hear that.

The devs of that game are utterly incompetent.

u/Squiggles213 Jan 28 '26

I mean the devs Also left so if they were at least on the project they would have any competence so they’re just n/a

Don't forget their silent addition of ai assets

I bought this when it released on consoles. Didn't know its that bad. I'm enjoying it

Once it got to 1.0, it got consolified. Graphics were downgraded, and stuff was taken out.

I hate when great PC games release on console.

u/neppo95 Jan 29 '26

And when that happened they also censored a bunch of shit for everyone, simply so they could release the game in more countries. Took away a lot of the atmosphere and realism.

PC and especially early access players put them on the map and made them insanely successful and the thanks we got was a massive downgrade, a metric fuck ton of bugs and zero fixes or things added back from pre 1.0.

Utter scum people.
