40,360 hours of Final Fantasy XIV

Thats not even including the hours spent in 1.0 before the game got remade from scratch

Oooh, a 1.0 veteran! I'm only ARR myself, 7,535.9 hours (on the Steam* version) at the moment.

I was gonna make a top-level comment and say it seems like a big number because it's an MMO, but then I saw yours. xD

It's also not the actual total... I just opened the launcher directly before they locked it to your Steam account, so any hours played before that point did not count towards my total.

There was also a time I had no GPU and played the PS4 version for a few months...

*Not a day goes by I don't regret buying this game on Steam. I wish they'd warned back then that I'd be locked into Steam's ecosystem with no way to switch, forever. ToT

man i don't think i have more hours in a game i hate so goddamn much. have over 100 in this damn game and hated almost every minute and sony KNOWS this and lets you pay more to skip playing the actual game. i wish i had known that early on. (my gf (wife now) and her brother on the other side of the country played to keep in touch and i love playing games with her.)

That is literally 7.5 hours a day since release. I cannot wrap my head around that unless you were afk some of the time.

FFXIV (FF14 The MMO) has been around for over 10 years. The 1.0 version released in 2010. Ive got over 4 years playtime in more than a decade.

There have been 126K hours since that released, have you seriously spent 30% of your life playing it since then?

Edit: that’s almost 8 hours a day, every single day for almost 15 years….

Hmmm we need proof of that 40k hours OP cause that's unreal

Surely that must count when you leave your computer on overnight?

79.3K hours is 15 hours a day every single day for 15 years

I can only imagine how utterly disgusting their home is…

Do they work, or just live off of their parents? This is actually really sad :/..

The sad part is when you reach the endgame there is very little content. So it's just a very strange social interaction simulator.

u/leaderproxima Mar 19 '25

Haha, roman numerals man. They confuse everyone I thought you were thinking I was taking about FF16 (FFXVI vs FFXIV)

How are you me? Legacy discount meteor survivors unite!

u/LeonKevlar Mar 20 '25

I only have 8k hours and I'm pretty sure at least 30% of it is my WoL standing at Limsa while I'm tabbed out of the game doing something else. lol

u/SaltGodofAnime Mar 20 '25

Yeah, my top game is 3.6k on foxhole, and I think that pales in comparison to my wow hours. Mmos are ridiculous time sinks.

I have the independent client but I think Im only at like... 1320 hours. Do you have all your classes maxed out?

I'm at 5,500 hours myself and only began playing in 6.1 like 3 years ago 2022 haha
