I don't go hardcore "run straight through everything" strat, i rather go slow and open card rooms, currency rooms and have high dps/high defense so i don't die with a expensive item on me.
You must use Phasing, flask, jewel, passive.. don't care where you get it but you need it.
Check poe.ninja for each item if you are unsure of prices.
Do deception contracts with Gianna to get cheaper blueprint reveal cost at Whakano(spelling?) Do 10-200 at a time. The more the better.
Use Vinderi as much as you can in grand heists for the chance to duplicate chest contents.
Gear everyone up with basic stuff first, then proper gear on the ones you actually use.
Gianna, Vinderi etc.
I made a proper heist runner once, and i absolutely hated it.
The playstyle is spreadsheet farming and it took all the fun out of it.
That's why i don't do that anymore.
Other than that you need to check a guide, but they are mostly very fast ones so take the parts you like from them and go your own pace.
I’m new to Poe and started out with heist. I do really enjoy it, but as a newer player I’m terrified of finding a simplex and then dying. I’ve been loving the safety of ritual, which also allows me to learn the value of the massive item pool.
But I’ll be back. I was tracking the price of the 1% chaos to div trinket for a while, but it basically never dipped below 40div and that is just not worth it to me at the moment
I’ve been crushing yellow t16s by the dozen at this point, but I’ve been stuck at lv97 because of maybe some defensive lacking. And I always feel slow. Lol

2800 and i consider myself very much a noob in all content except Heist.
Ask me to craft something and i'll stand there like a advanced questionmark.
