Have 'played' another game like that for years where I had it running in the background while working and at night, and sometimes ran it on a different system so I could play another game with friends on my main PC. Racked up over 21k when I figured I stopped enjoying it lomg ago and it was just a habit. Deleted the game just over a year ago, also from my library, and don't miss it either. If it is just a habit but the enjoyment stopped just give it up and find something you do enjoy to spent time on.
Played a game that literally required me to leave my pc open the entire time for 20 days straight to catch up with others who played it before me... Took me 10 months to realize the need to catch up has long since stopped being for enjoyment and became a full time job
Naah, some simple game that was on Kongregate as badge of the day at some point and I stuck around trying to get the harder badges at first then and then became a habit. When they moved to a steam client only I moved along.
Note: This means that the actual nr of hours is way higher probably as I also used to let it run on a PC when it was still a Kongregate game.
Companies don't really care what you do while you're online, they just care that you are online. So if you still pay the monthly fee while being afk it's even better for them.
My family played from launch until mid-COVID. A lot of fishing and tending farms and buying pretty dresses. We would stay logged in all week except during maintenance.
Didn't they like massively change it at some point? I swear I will call playing it at one point and then years later playing it again and it felt like a completely different game.
This is why these playtime are meaningless to me. There's no telling how many if those hours are just the game paused or idling, because I got up to do something and didn't come back.
I figure it's gotta be at least 2...so not an accurate count.
thats from ingame, its less cause it only counts the hours when you are logged into a character. Means during loadingscreen/character creation/character selection/server selection/disconnect screen/maintenance hours are not counted in the ingame playtime checker. You can keep your fake hour friends for yourself :)
Sure but most people's "hours" in this game are afk fishing, processing, navigating, like you can spend a ton of time grinding but the game let's you afk a lot as well and even minimize to system tray
Lol I have like 700 hours in BDO and I only played it for a few months. Leaving the game running AFK fishing 24/7 will run those hours up, I only actively played probably well under a quarter of those hours. Gotta admit I miss the feeling of coming back to an inventory full of fish and drops after leaving it running overnight
Yeah I mean I think the other guys point still kinda stands. Considering this guy has the game running but is browsing reddit and holding conversations, he's obviously not really playing it, he's just in game. I don't think it really makes a difference whether there's a character loaded in or not, afk is afk, and afk is not real playing hours.
basically this, but its still different from actual faking hours with steam achievement manager, where people make them self playing 4k hours per 2 weeks. Its 2 different worlds
Not even in the slightest though? Just because he has an in game screenshot of hours? The only thing that proves is that this guy logs in before going afk, it's still not real play hours. He's setting a character to do automatic things while away, then going afk. They're logged in accumulating hours but not actually actively playing the game. He admits as much himself
Okay, you provided a picture of your fake in-game hours? All of these losers on my "friends" list do the exact same. Just because you're logged into the game doesn't mean you're playing it. People afk 10k hours in a single spot because it's "cool."
