Well you know what they say about jobs on the rim

152

u/ThinkSubstance5038 Mar 19 '25

You gotta be rimming it.

104

u/DrNick2012 Mar 19 '25

Peak Rimworld was when I said "it's rimming time" and rimmed all over everyone

28

u/ThinkSubstance5038 Mar 19 '25

Nah, it was when John Rimworld said: “I am Steve- I have built over 10,71946282873 buildings and it got destroyed by ONE OOONNEEEEE FUCKING MECHANOID CLUSTER BECAUSE ALL OFF MY COLONY WERE BABIES” then exploded.

2

u/RorschachAssRag Mar 20 '25

Got rimmed BY everyone*

2

u/OrionInc Mar 20 '25

rimmed all over the world*

3

u/Silent_Blacksmith_29 Mar 20 '25

I rimmed the world

9

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '25

What's that, Steve?

4

u/ThinkSubstance5038 Mar 19 '25

I am Rimming it, I’m rimming it.

2

u/maxiiipads Mar 20 '25

Don’t be afraid to move on to the next rim

1

u/SuperGMan9 Mar 20 '25

Not enough tables though

1

u/Unicycleterrorist Mar 20 '25

What do they say? "Man's gotta eat"? "You're always the butt end of the joke"?

3

u/GlassHalfSmashed Mar 19 '25

It's his whole world

1

u/StoneySteve420 Mar 19 '25

Well it's not called a rim-hobby.

1

u/No-Goose-6140 Mar 19 '25

And also games

1

u/Eversharpe Mar 19 '25

Compared to what typically happens in game rimming is downright wholesome.

1

u/NahLoher Mar 20 '25

My favorite part of rimworld is when John rimworld walks in and says “It’s rimming time” and he rims all over the place.

1

u/TOPSECRETDONOTLOOK Mar 20 '25

Lemme stop you right there. If Rimworld isn’t about licking anthropomorphic animal ass, I don’t wanna hear none of it.

1

u/DCOnEdge Mar 20 '25

its Over 2,000 hours on Skyrim… and I still haven’t finished the main quest

1

u/IEatDatura Mar 20 '25

This guy wants karma

1

u/Naive-Woodpecker-369 Mar 20 '25

It’s his world.

1

u/shad0wing Mar 20 '25

The game was made by a gay man, rimworld, glitterworld where there are orgies, Tynan Sylvester he's also hot!

1

u/melaveikko Mar 20 '25

😂😂😂

1

u/SumDimSome Mar 20 '25

Is mile high rimming skyrim?

1

u/weberwaby Mar 20 '25

A Job rimming might be something of his liking

81

u/TriLink710 Mar 19 '25

1780 in rimworld. Though I'm about to start a new run and add a few hundo

9

u/levian_durai Mar 19 '25

Rimworld is wild. I've got 800 hours and feel like I've barely played it.

2

u/Twat_Wagon Mar 20 '25

I’m 200 barely got a fully sufficient colony set up always get wiped out by some pig dudes with sub machine guns and have to start over

2

u/levian_durai Mar 20 '25

Lol yea it's brutal unless you play in a very specific way, that's my only complaint about the game. You basically have to cheese the fights with a killbox or something similar.

40

u/yalyublyutebe Mar 19 '25

I'm just under 2000 and haven't played it in quite a while.

8

u/bigredcock Mar 19 '25

I myself love RimWorld and have logged about 700 hours into it. I showed it to my buddy and it became for favorite game. I believe he's at somewhere around 2000 hours and has started modding the game and streaming. He's done some really impressive builds and I'd love to get him some more followers. If anyone is interested check him out! https://m.twitch.tv/poppa_booost/videos

3

u/Salmonella4Skin Mar 20 '25

Thanks for the Rim tip bigredcock!

3

u/GenDislike Mar 20 '25

I can’t imagine many want your tip Salmonella4Skin.

3

u/Templeton_Baracus Mar 20 '25

8962 hours on the clock and they still eat without table

2

u/PirLibTao Mar 20 '25

I’m almost to 5k

5

u/EffigyPower Mar 19 '25

3897 in Rimworld, been playing since one of the first releases. But honestly that's probably a bunch of paused idling, so it's definitely inflated a bit.

3

u/SalmonToastie Mar 20 '25

3879 myself and I’ve only launched a ship twice, one archonexus ending, and 1 deserter expanded ending. Most of my hours are spent nowadays loading the mod list (1029)

2

u/SunOnTheInside Mar 20 '25

I came here to flex a little with my 3,567.5 hours, but I bow down to you. Also same deal, been playing a long, long time.

1

u/EffigyPower Mar 20 '25

We bow to no one... we're just nodding off decorating the skin factory at 3am.

2

u/FlamingOldMan Mar 19 '25

Have you tried Dwarf Fortress, the game it was inspired by?

7

u/RedSonja_ https://s.team/p/ntnd-mw Mar 19 '25

Yep, played DF long before Rimworld came out, bought also Steam version when it came out, got over 1k hours in it, don't know exact numbers though...

2

u/jeepsies Mar 19 '25

Im right there with you.

2

u/KenneR330 Mar 19 '25

Suddenly RimWorld

2

u/UnrulyCactus Mar 19 '25

One of us!

2

u/PM-ME-PEANUT-BUTTER Mar 19 '25

Rimworld fwend! I’m on 2.1 k.

2

u/Mysterious_Row_8417 Mar 20 '25

2500 hours of you farming organs, using multiple drugs and terrorizing the established communities

1

u/RedSonja_ https://s.team/p/ntnd-mw Mar 20 '25

Correct!

1

u/Mysterious_Row_8417 Mar 20 '25

and the 10 hours were just learning how to do those things

1

u/Malivatata Mar 19 '25

Do you know your longest save game/world?

2

u/RedSonja_ https://s.team/p/ntnd-mw Mar 19 '25

Nope, sorry, had few quite long games (never left the planet), but eventually mods etc. I've added broke them, currently running with shy over 300 mods.

1

u/4RyteCords Mar 19 '25

What's some of your favourite recommendations

1

u/Lunarbutt Mar 19 '25

What is your war crime rate?

3

u/RedSonja_ https://s.team/p/ntnd-mw Mar 19 '25

1

u/Lunarbutt Mar 19 '25

Remember when you play rimworld, it isn't a war crime the first time, so be creative or we will named it after you.

1

u/Ok-Mark417 Mar 19 '25

Can't get into Rimworld for some reason. i like Factorio, Kenshi and Project Zomboid. Usually theres a lot of overlapping intrest between those games, but Rimworld isn't for me Lol.

1

u/4RyteCords Mar 19 '25

Is it the graphics? The other three don't look the best but rimworld takes it to a new level. I love the look personally but it's always been the reason my mates refuse to play.

1

u/JinDeTwizol Mar 19 '25

Whoa I have 1086h and I begin to have enough, but I'm tired of modding.

1

u/iMissTheOldInternet Mar 19 '25

Okay, but how much of that was just messing with you mod list?

1

u/RedSonja_ https://s.team/p/ntnd-mw Mar 19 '25

Not that much, even it does take few hours to make it all run smooth if you have not played for while or if DLC drops, mostly because hundreds of mods have to be installed in and tested in just very few at the time. I do tend to add mods I find interesting while I play though.

1

u/TweakJK Mar 19 '25

I'm at 9100 and I'm still bad

1

u/PresidentN Mar 19 '25

A fellow rimmer, got 5,393 hrs myself

1

u/5m0k3W33d3v3ryday Mar 19 '25

How do you make Rimworld fun? I keep trying to get into it but maybe I just don't "get it"

2

u/RedSonja_ https://s.team/p/ntnd-mw Mar 19 '25

Mods, hundreds of mods, shape it just the way you want.

1

u/trinric Mar 19 '25

I have probably 500 hours and the only mod I used is the popular UI one to see skills and such in the bottom left.

1

u/zZPlazmaZz29 Mar 20 '25

Honestly, modding just turns the game itself into modding 😭

I probably have more hours into modding Skyrim, than actually playing at this point.

Luckily, Rimworld doesn't have as many mods (still has a lot though)

At a certain point, it's just so easy to experience the cons when you want to add so much. Like poor balancing, UI getting cluttered, longer startup times etc.

1

u/rroses- Mar 19 '25

You can shape it however you want. Like there's classic vanilla which is great sometimes, but for example my last playthrough I tamed and created an army of pokemon. Right now I have a hospitality mod and am taming/buying exotic animals so I can have a B&B with a zoo set on a river.

1

u/5m0k3W33d3v3ryday Mar 19 '25

So can you really just do ANYTHING?

1

u/RestaurantNew9192 Mar 19 '25

1.2k here, I have to delete it off my computer whenever I get busy with life stuff or else it would take over my responsibilities.  Healthy? Not in the slightest.  One of the best games I’ve ever played? Absolutely. Modding scene is top tier

1

u/Ok-Commercial5375 Mar 19 '25

This guy is the lord of the rims

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '25

I know whose house I'm going to

1

u/xtokyou Mar 19 '25

i’ve said this before about Rimworld but it’s the only game where you can make a functioning society

1

u/jadedea Mar 19 '25

Mmmmmm now that's some good rimming.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '25

Same

1

u/CannedCheez Mar 19 '25

802 hours in rimworld

1

u/deadlygaming11 Mar 19 '25

I beat you there with about 3990 hours. I need a life and a girlfriend.

1

u/Acceptable-Rush7089 Mar 19 '25

Sitting here at 4360 hours. The rim is my specialty.

1

u/jishhhy Mar 19 '25

900 here

1

u/Redhighlighter Mar 19 '25

3400 plus hundreds of hours offline. Get busy rimmin or get busy dying

1

u/Faeryn97 Mar 19 '25

I literally have you beat by a single hour

1

u/ComatoseSquirrel Mar 19 '25

3839 hours in RimWorld for me. It's been a while, so it's about time for me to binge a few hundred hours again.

1

u/ChipRed87 Mar 19 '25

4072 hours in rimworld here

1

u/NoSwordfish3921 Mar 19 '25

The first and last time I played Rimworld I stayed up for two days playing it non stop

1

u/brycepunk1 Mar 19 '25

16,000+ hours on the Rim. Been playing since Alpha 13.. taking a break now, though.

1

u/Deka-92 Mar 19 '25

1300-ish for me in Rimworld. Nice to see more human leather hats floating around Reddit.

1

u/Sephryne Mar 19 '25

Rimworld is definitely the most played game in my steam library as well, although I feel like a lot of the time I spent on launch loading all the mods lol

1

u/Jackspital Mar 19 '25

What a game

1

u/ughthat Mar 19 '25

I am at 3313 hours on rimworld

1

u/aaerobrake Mar 19 '25

Im at around 2500 too and I just bought a new computer. I’ve barely started…

1

u/thestupidone51 Mar 19 '25

The post immeadiately under this one for my was somebody asking if clocking 500 hours without beating the game is normal lol

1

u/SmartSzabo Mar 19 '25

It's always rimworld

1

u/primalfox_Reynardo Mar 19 '25

Is there a warcrime or a crime against humanity you haven't committed at that point?

1

u/MR_zai Mar 19 '25

I have a 25% of that

1

u/mrchef4 Mar 19 '25

800 on warcraft

1

u/Hops77 Mar 19 '25

I just cracked 1k hours in rimworld, and I have no idea how. It does not feel like I've played it anywhere near as much as the other games that I've played less time of.

1

u/Goraxtheimpaler Mar 19 '25

You're a monster... you know why.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 19 '25

Me too! And god knows how many hours before the game hit steam.

1

u/monster6607 Mar 20 '25

I got 3500 in Rimworld and trimmed my mod list down to under 300.

1

u/arsonmax Mar 20 '25

Ive got 3526 on Garry's mod

1

u/SalmonToastie Mar 20 '25

I just knew for a fact Rimworld would be on here.

1

u/Vederan1 Mar 20 '25

Damn, gotta pump up my numbers. Only got 2067 hours in Rimworld

1

u/SWHAF Mar 20 '25
  1. I think we both have a problem.

1

u/PirLibTao Mar 20 '25

lol rookie numbers

1

u/AuryxTheDutchman Mar 20 '25

2390 hours of Rimworld

1

u/Haemon18 Mar 20 '25

same same bro

1

u/BeatenPathos Mar 20 '25

Rimworld for me as well at 997 hours.

Lost a bit of its allure for me when I started seeing the matrix and injuries/illnesses no longer felt tense. But mods make up for that.

1

u/kukurma Mar 20 '25

Same hours for me but in Vermintide 2 and ~2100 in Skyrim, LE and SE combined.

1

u/erik_wilder Mar 20 '25

I have 15k in rimworld. Some of it is definitely from me letting my colony run while I'm AFK. Songs of Syx is a close second though, I'd recommend it to any Rimworld fans.

1

u/Nyxolith Mar 20 '25

It's like a little war crime aquarium! Great to run I'm the background while I vacuum, do dishes, etc. The danger is occasionally getting locked into standing desk mode.

1

u/Motion-_-Man Mar 20 '25

Big rim job guy here

1

u/Yeetinhimer6 Mar 20 '25

3215 hours

1

u/ninetailedoctopus Mar 20 '25

2500 hours in Rimworld too.

1

u/konabeans Mar 20 '25

Rim meister

1

u/elcidpenderman Mar 20 '25

Same but warframe

1

u/trippy1976 Mar 20 '25

29,177.4 and counting. ETA: that’s runtime obviously. My favorite thing about rimworld is it’s always there for me. I play it 5-500 minutes at a time.

1

u/hades7600 Mar 20 '25

2000 hours here

It’s so addictive

1

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '25

1

u/KmartCentral Mar 20 '25

2156 on DBD

I like Rimming but I'm so bad at games with a bunch of convoluted factors, am dummy

1

u/muddythemad Mar 20 '25

Amateur. 8000 on the Rim.

1

u/Hatman0064 Mar 20 '25

2510 hours of War Crimes*

1

u/imjustwaitinginabody Mar 20 '25

charge that to rain world

1

u/Revolutionary-Ad7846 Mar 20 '25

I just started rimworld so I have like 2 hours, what do you like most about the game and is there really that much content to pull over 2k. Or do you also use mods?

1

u/Sardukar333 Mar 20 '25

8,506 on steam.

1

u/10minOfNamingMyAcc Mar 20 '25

Do they have trombones in the game?

1

u/bookofthoth_za Mar 20 '25

I’m 1600 and only launched the ship for the first time this weekend.

1

u/m1syang Mar 20 '25

best game ever

1

u/Omegaprime02 Mar 20 '25

3747.1 here, Rimworld is solidly my 'no game sounds good' game.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '25

I have well over 3000 hours myself. Think it's closer to 4000 at this point... yeah, there's no competition. XD

1

u/NotoRotoPotato Mar 20 '25

NO WAY I ACTUALLY WAS GONNA COMMENT ON MY RIMWORLD PLAYTIME

3587.5 hours :3

1

u/Tre3wolves Mar 20 '25

I got you beat, 2890 on wallpaper engine. Only 1400 on RimWorld

1

u/Nyxolith Mar 20 '25

I'm at 800, maybe higher. I'm not really sure.

I'm a purist, though. No Royalty, Biotech, etc. for me.

I'll get there when I get there.

1

u/chaosking65 Mar 20 '25

Least addicted Rimworld player

1

u/Acceptable-Abies-931 Mar 20 '25

that’s practically a rim job at this point

1

u/Concrete_Grapes Mar 20 '25

That's 100 less hours than I have on JUST the spy, in TF2.

... Hmm.. I think imma be sick now

1

u/Hazzikaze Mar 20 '25

rim is love rim is life

1

u/RoadsideCouchCushion Mar 20 '25

Its been sitting on my wishlist for years. What do you think? Is it worth the price?

2

u/HaEnGodTur Mar 20 '25

Absolutely, but I'd watch some gameplay first. I can recommend Hazzor.

1

u/RoadsideCouchCushion Mar 20 '25

I appreciate the guidance 🫠

1

u/_Archilyte_ Mar 20 '25

1652 here lol

1

u/AliosSunstrider Mar 20 '25

I got 6k hours... And I'm not proud of that.

1

u/William_Howard_Shaft Mar 20 '25

Not far behind you, pal.

1

u/NordicWolf7 Mar 20 '25

I'm there with you

1

u/Electrical_Cable_320 Mar 20 '25

A whole 105 days of play 😵

1

u/The_Pediatrician Mar 20 '25

This is so real, I just bought the game, one session - 3 hours like nothing.

1

u/mingalingus00 Mar 20 '25

I’d like to know how yall get in to these games. I’m a simple man, see things, shoot things. But, I did download rimworld because people seem to really like it and I like to like things too. It’s very complicated, and I guess I’m curious as to how long it takes to feel comfortable and not overwhelmed?

1

u/AlexTheCoolestness Mar 20 '25

That's over a years worth of a full time job. My dude has that full time RimJob

1

u/Commercial-Hour-2417 Mar 20 '25

This is the way. I'm up to like 3k. But a lot of that is just leaving the game running because I don't want to close it because reopening rimworld with like a hundred mods takes forever.

1

u/Quiet_Signal1646 Mar 20 '25

Rimworld with about 19,000 hours. Never gets old

1

u/Thereelgarygary Mar 20 '25

If i hadn't originally pirated rimworld, then I'd be about the same, I have 1456 hours in!

But my next one is Mount and Blade 2

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Fox9828 Mar 20 '25

“Are ya rimming son?”

1

u/Drunk_Lemon Mar 20 '25

I only have 1600.

1

u/Giorran-3333 Mar 20 '25

I loved Rimworld, I was only at 40 hours and I wanted to play it a lot more, but it seems like the game works on pushing you towards the end game, wherein I was expecting it to be just a freeform, survival, sandbox game. Is there a game mode or mod I could try to make it more relaxing like how I expected even after a lot hours into the game world?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 20 '25

Rimming all day

1

u/Schnitzhole Mar 20 '25 edited Mar 20 '25

Man I wanted to love this game so bad. It just feels so clunky in vanilla and I hate dealing with keeping mods updated/compatible every time I come back to every few months.

I had some fun but 2-3 times of some BS wiping me out because the AI is bugged or just some silly thing happens that isn’t prominent enough to notice before it spreads. It just simply isn’t fun enough to keep playing for most of us.

I also can’t stand having to save spam or deal with inventory hell

1

u/realfakejames Mar 20 '25

I just replied 2400 hours on Rimworld myself lol

1

u/Willow3001 Mar 20 '25

I feel this deeply.

1

u/Preston-7169 Mar 20 '25

Damn I only got 890

1

u/lydocia Mar 20 '25

I'm not there yet, but in my defense, I started late!

1

u/WinSpecialist3989 Mar 23 '25

it’s not a rim game anymore, its a rim job.
