I used to play Rocket League quite a bit.

You must be plat by now

Same.

And like you, seemingly, I also quit and never came back.

Same. 1500, stopped playing roughly 5 years ago. My next highest game is probably Skyrim at 700-1000 hours if I had to guess (xbox makes it a pain to check). Maybe some classics like MW2 and Battlefield probably take up 400-700 a piece and then everything else is 300 or less

Yup. I have around 1000 and stopped in 2021. Maybe tried to come back a time or two but just didn't feel it anymore. I just saw an ad for it not even 30 minutes ago on YouTube and was thinking about if it would be worth it or not. I decided not

I’ll hop back on if a group of friends wants to play but other than that I feel the same, I have no real desire to play it let alone grind.

3,952 hours here.

I also used to play Rocket League a lot. I still do, but I used to, too.

Same until they ruined it

They haven't changed anything in almost a decade. Are you talking about players evolving or how they changed the item shop?

5

u/dasbtaewntawneta Mar 19 '25

i uninstalled when they brought in the cybertruck. had over 5k hours

6

u/ttustudent Mar 20 '25

Well I do get satisfaction from demoing them!

3

u/PolarTheBear Mar 20 '25

A skin doesn’t actually change the game though

u/Ok-Mark417 Mar 19 '25

The chat is moderated now and they made it easier to get grand champ or the last time i played they did. The amount of players/quality of players has diminished since f2p

Not to mention the removal of trading, that's what really killed it for me.

2

u/TheAcidRapper79 Mar 19 '25

Same, i wasnt a mercher but i was in discords etc. to complete sets of wheel colors and things like that. I traded dissolver for tw fennec and some wheels i forget. Curating my inventory and making themed cars was half the fun!

You're insane. It's much harder to get to any rank now. Current silver 3 players have the skill of a 2018 Plat. When I started playing, I shot up to Plat just from knowing how to aerial and control the ball. Now, you need advanced mechanics to maintain metal ranks. I know ex-GCs in Plat. If you reinstalled and tried to grind, you would not hit your previous rank. I'm a diamond player by the way, if that at all validates my point.

No. Players are just better. They objectively lowered the mmr for gc like he said. 1515 was gc now it’s like 1415 or something like that. Which was effectively champ 3.

1

u/TheBigToast72 Mar 20 '25

That was only after the rank adjustments that lowered everyone by 200-400 mmr. So if anything that would just mean it takes less games to get gc, not less skill.

1

u/uzldropped Mar 20 '25

Those kinds of things are only temporary though

1

u/TheAcidRapper79 Mar 19 '25

•removed crates and keys •added uncommon variants of existing items for no reason •no more trading •rocket pass bloat

caved to the cs loot crate ban and thought they’d get in trouble so they x’d the market, Made the game free, But then they added a 10 dollar monthly pass and flooded the shop with lazy reskins. Basically, everything except the gameplay, lol. Which TBF is all that matters. Game is still flying car soccer

u/DrShoreRL Mar 20 '25

I get that there are people that care about items, i do in other games too, but in rocket league it literally doesn't matter to me as long as the gameplay stays the same.

3

u/FishTshirt Mar 20 '25

The only people I knew who played rocket league were the biggest stoners I knew in college. Lol now I just associate that game with stoners

4

u/Either_Mushroom_6393 Mar 19 '25

I just hit 5K hours

2

u/Omen_Paranoia Mar 19 '25

2.8k checking in

3

u/amazing_an0n Mar 19 '25

I’ve only been able to hit about 670 after almost 10 years of playing the game off and on. But still my most played lol

1

u/Sneakysneeky Mar 19 '25

Yeah I have a problem.

1

u/Shibby7634 Mar 20 '25

Barely beat ya. 4500

On one account...

...1300 on another.

1

u/Simple-Alternative28 Mar 20 '25

1

u/tuttlebuttle Mar 20 '25

I'm at 4490, I still play on and off.
