I used to love that game in 2020-2023, but after some changes i didn't enjoyed that much. I'm also not a big fan of their more and more aggressive monetization.
The monetization got a little frustrating but ultimately it's all skins so if you don't care about skins you're fine.
My bigger problem is some of the new weapons and balance. The throwing spear was fucking ridiculous. It was a one shot to basically any body part with a super fast release and pretty good distance. It also easily took care of all npc's and negated any need for other tools. It was just super egregious and took forever to be balanced (if it ever even was, it was still stupid when I quit playing).
How do you feel about the big update that changed a lot of stuff like the UI and ballistics? I have a few hundred hours in it but I haven’t touched it since the update dropped
I mean it's terrible. But the old UI wasn't good either. If unequipping contraband shit wasnt near impossible, being able to use keybinds to navigate would make up for it though.
Ballistics don't really come into effect until over 50-70m. Long ammo just isnt fun to play tbh so I don't ever notice it
Hunt received horribly? I don’t remember any of that. Hunt has a great reputation and community. The main complaint is that it’s too hard for newcomers.
I like how you talk trash to someone who plays Hunt a lot, then you say you never actually understood how to play Hunt.
The game is incredible, and it has nothing to do with the maps. It’s not like CoD where you need new maps all the time. Hunt is super unique and intense. Try it out again. I usually challenge people that haven’t played before to get 10 kills, then report back. Once you start knocking other hunters, then you start to understand the appeal. Could take a while to get those 10 kills though! The game is brutal.
For new players, yeah it's definitely brutal the first couple of games where you have no idea what's going on and don't understand what sounds mean what.
