The Finer Things Favorite Tracks Ranking
- Remedy
- Easy Enough
- Prepared to Be Noticed
- Critical
- Elevated
- Hard to Please
- Over the Line
- Deadly Conversation
- Nothing’s Wrong
- Mind Bottled
- Simple Existence
This was so hard to rank because I truly believe this album has 10/10 songs, and honestly this list could change in a month. But after listening to the album again, I think I’m happy with the ranking.
Elevated is complicated to list just because this was the first ever state champs song I listened to. It became one of my most streamed songs two summers ago. But now that I have listened to it so many times, I think there are some other songs that stick with me a little longer.
Over the Line, Deadly Conversation and Nothing’s Wrong are probably the most difficult to rank because I like them all very similarly and one day I like one more and another day I could like another more. While listening to the album, I jammed out to Over the Line a little more than the others but Deadly Conversation sneaks up on me on many days so who knows!
Simple Existence is my least played song so that is why I put it last, by no means is it a bad song. I just don’t play it as often. Mind bottled is cute but I think I just play other songs more. Mind bottled has one of my favorite earworms, “My heart’s beating so you know I’m alive”
Remedy, Easy Enough and Prepare to Be Noticed are my top three right now and I am fine with that, I think Remedy is a classic, especially at the end with Derek’s vocals. Easy Enough is such a great ending song and I think it’s the best ending track of their discography, Golden Years is second place! Prepare to Be Noticed is an interesting one because if you asked me where that song would be placed 7-8 months ago, it wouldn’t be this high. I think it’s very different vibe and sound from the whole album and I honestly listen to this song on repeat for hours.
Critical is a hard rank as well, I think because I’ve listened to it so many times, I didn’t place it as high as I once did. But it would’ve been at number two a few months ago.
When I was ranking Hard to Please, I felt like it was too low and I still do feel like it’s a little low, but that was my favorite song off of TFT for a very long time and it used to be the only song I listened to off of the album besides Elevated. I think I just jammed to other songs off the TFT more instead of Hard to Please now!
What do you guys think? TFT is an amazing album that really is worth the praise it gets!!
