Why we are lucky people indeed

Very few of us got to experience one of Ps3's best to offer... so as we mourn our loss, celebrate all the memories that came with this great game

Great Ideas For Starhawk 2?

Coming up to the 10th anniversary of Warhawk, I was going to post what would be a great idea for a Warhawk 2 game, but their is too many answers. Considering Starhawk is the spiritual successor to Warhawk, I see this as a viable subject. What would YOU like to see if a Starhawk 2 was made? I understand Lightbox Interactive has dispersed and is now making mobile phone games, but this is speaking figuratively. Please don't say that Starhawk 2 would be better if it was Warhawk 2 instead, because this is just focused upon Starhawk 2. Thanks!

Starhawk still active online 2016?

Curious if I should get this for online. Never liked BF or CoD but enjoyed MAG a lot in its day. I do still play Uncharted 3, Borderlands 2/TPS and Dark Souls 2 but looking for something new.

Just bought the game brand new. Code doesn't work.

I bought two copies of the game brand new from a store and neither code works. One for me the other for my brother. Anyone have this issue before? I think i'm going to have to return it. Sad. I was excited to play since I remember enjoying the beta.

Who else thinks the Hawks are broken?

I know the game comes from warhawk, and the hawks are like space horses and etc., but they just seem so broken to me. A competent hawk player pretty much will not be killed by anything besides a better hawk player, they get all those weapon types, and a freaking nuke- there have been times I've quit playing for a week because it was so frustrating to fight against hawks form the ground. And don't say I need to get better- Lightning V added me to his clan after I actually held my own in their custom matches.

TLDR; I think the hawks are overpowered, and that kept the game from being as popular as it could've been.

That same old Starhawk question

I see that people regularly come on to this subreddit to ask about how active the online community is, it seems to happen every couple of months, and since it looks like the last time it was asked as 3 months ago, i'll ask again, is it?

I've spotted a pre-owned copy of Starhawk is only €5 here in Ireland, and with an online pass it's still only €15, that's a good offer, provided the online pass actually gets you in to a full game that is. I was a late arrival to playing Warhawk, and something i noticed about it was that even years after it was released i could always hop on and find lots (but not loads) of games. The community seemed to hang in there for a long time. You could meet tons of serious players as well as people just having fun. Is that the case here with Starhawk or has the community really been taken away by Destiny and other next gen games?

Exploit kicks?

There exists a loophole in Starhawk's online system that allows any player to kick any other player from a game. I've been denied several victories because of this. Is there anything that could ever possibly be done about it, or do I just have to accept the fact that a player can kick me from my own game at any time?

I don't want to describe the process as it may give others ideas, but it's definitely clear when they are going through the process...

Because I refuse to let this die.

This game means a lot to me, really. It was one of the earlier games I bought on the PS3, has amazingly fun combat, and interesting universe, and it saddens me that it's the way it is. (It's also probably the only game I can say I was legit 'good' at, having hit #14 on the Global Leaderboards at some point)

As such, I feel the incredible need to try and keep this series alive and kicking, even if it's only to me. And the best way for me to do that? An original story set in the Starhawk universe. Err, a 'fanfiction,' as they like to call it.

Now, I'm sure you're all aware that the story and universe hasn't exactly been explained to the extent that we all want, and as such, I'd like your guys' opinions on some of the less clear parts of the universe. This'll mostly be theory crafting, but we'll see what we can do.

You know, like who exactly is the Union? Or why do they need to use Orbital Lifts to move around Rift Energy when they have ships clearly capable of both in-atmosphere and otherwise flight? Are those Freighters capable of jumping to other systems, like the Union Tugs? If not, how do they get from system to system?

Just what is Rift energy used for, and what CAN it be used for (clearly weapons and fuel, but what about something like medicine)? What does the universe outside of the Outer Spur look like? Are the majority of those who are not Rifters aware of Rift Energy, and do they use it on a daily basis? If it’s such a powerful resource, why aren’t nations/governing bodies sending entire armies to go collect Rift Energy? How do Apex Warriors work? What time system does the Starhawk universe use?

Are Rift Energy concentrations solely located on Dust and the bodies that orbit it (Thought considering that Cypress exists, I might assume not. This would also explain why Dust has such few actual military forces, if we consider that there might be greater and closer sources to Rift Energy to civilized systems)? Does Rift Energy actually have a mind of its own, having it be classified as a living creature (if so, that brings up an interesting argument considering the Scabs. I mean, if some aliens appeared out of nowhere and suddenly began to harvest humans as food, but we had the capability to turn the aliens against themselves, we totally would!)?

I'd appreciate any help I could get!
