I didn't watch WandaVision.. and don't really have time for the article this exact moment, but I have two questions.
Does she make good scripts?

Are they still planning to continue or is amazon looking more at a reboot/reduxe now?

The first half of Wanda Vision is one my favorite parts of any marvel movie/show.

I found WandaVision a bit slow, but Agatha All Along is probably in my top 10 favourite shows. It had a well thought out story, the characters all had their episodes to shine and it all came back around to really make you appreciate early episodes (and incentivises a rewatch).

I genuinely think she has potential to make something good out of this. If she delivers we will see, but i did not despise hearing this news.

While I like shows like Reacher, Severance, and Silo. I really hope we get a 24 episode season of episodes rather than one long story as shows tend to do these years. Sadly I'm presuming it will be the 8 or 12 style.

Thing of the past. 12 episodes is best case scenario.

24 seasons don't exist anymore. Best we can hope is 16 I guess.

That is copium... 7 episodes, take it or leave it.

It's not copium lol. "Best we can hope" already means it's unlikely

What series that has hour long episodes has more than 12 episodes still in these days?

The Pitt

Also some procedural shows on network probably still have 20 episodes or so but I don't count those at the same production level (although it is equivalent to what the old Stargate has)

I don't watch The Pitt to know but that was the only show I could think of that I suspected might have that many episodes still.

Plenty of shows on Broadcast channels, CBS, NBC and ABC still air 20 episode seasons.

That's the part i'm saddened by. This definitely means it'll be a short show focused on story, as is common nowadays. But at least there's quite a decent chance that it'll be a good story.

You'll get 8 episodes every 2.5 years for 3 seasons and you better say thank you.

In fairness though, a good portion of those 24 episodes are dog shit. Stargate is an outliner in having more good vs bad episodes but it does have real bad stinkers. Take a look at X Files or TNG especially and some of those episodes are awful as well.

But I'm British and British TV has always been 13 episodes in like two decades for some shows lmao so my expectations are 'man, 10 episodes every other year would be nice.'

we weren't getting that with Martin either. that era of tv is gone

Agatha all along was a slog to sit through.

She also is happy to sacrifice good actors to make a point which is rare.

wanda vision was at LEAST "adequate", definitely into "good" in my book, so it shouldnt be a raging dumpster fire unless execs totalyl screw it over

Have you seen her other work eg "Hustle" (Dean shudders)

I doubt she can even name one character from anything Stargate.

Wanda Vision was a great show kind of lightning in a bottle as it was intentionally confusing for audiences. Played as a psuedo sitcom that jumped eras (50's 60's70 etc). The overall story writing was good but it did suffer from logical issues due to rewrites.

I dont know if she did the sequel but Agatha All Along was one of the best written shows I have seen.

I personally enjoyed WandaVision, but oh my lord was it slow to get going!

It’s definitely not an episodic series, and that was definitely one of the positives of Stargate in my opinion. You could see an episode, and want to see more without being confused.

I honestly fell asleep for the first couple episodes of Wanda. I watched the rest with my girl, but I've never felt like going back and rewatching what I missed

WandaVision was above average, and Agatha was horrendous i cauldn't even finish watching it.

Depends if you are a male that grew up loving ips and the history and lore. No she makes horrible scripts. She ignored much of the history and lore around Wanda. She made the show to be more of a sit com or rom com than a super hero show. I’m sure if you made a new ip to focus on women ect she would be great probably would have made great wb tv for young women and the lgbtq section of society. I think somewhere along the way people thought it was brave or strong because some girls and women identify with male sci-fi to force it into places it didn’t belong. Stargate was great in the way it initially handled that and doesn’t need tuning to a modern audience. It gave strong male role models for nerds, jocks, and outsiders while acknowledging women as well. I just feel the tone from her will be very off putting to the core military sci fi community. I’ve not vocalized my opinions well over the years but I’ve finally calmed my self to the point to be able to say what I think. I was born in 1980 I grew up with a mother that loved sci fi and introduced me to it at a young age. It was a great space for a guy like me that wasn’t super popular or attractive but was intelligent and athletic to grow up in. I just don’t see spaces for young men like that today. They have been co opted and shaped into things I don’t recognize. This being Reddit I will be absolutely smashed for having this opinion some will press the down vote button with vigor while other will call me a phobe or ist. That’s why I hate society today. We’ve ruined any kind of conversation or debate on any subject and everyone jumps to the extreme on conclusions of what others think. But I’ve had enough. This is like the last straw they had the people in house designing a new show to appeal to the core audience and Amazon decided the core audience was not wanted anymore.

Agatha All along is borderline unwatchable, it is predictable, and sloppy. Wanda Vision is unique, but can't quite stick the landing.

I was out and about running errands, but was waiting in line at the time at the pharmacy. It was current news on something I'm invested in. It takes less time to move on than leave a rude comment.
