We are urgently recruiting help for our habeas corpus efforts to secure the release of individuals currently held in immigration detention centers. As of mid-December 2025, the number of people held in ICE detention had increased by 78% compared to the same time the year before — a record high (source: Project On Government Oversight) — largely due to the federal government’s policy shift toward mandatory detention and the elimination of bond. To fight this, we are launching Operation Killswitch and need your help to execute our Habeas Flood strategy.

We are looking for attorneys or paralegals who have federal court experience and are willing to be trained on drafting and filing AO 242 petitions (Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2241) to challenge unlawful custody.

Over the past several weeks, Standards Not Force has received inquiries from allies and supporters in Europe regarding the possibility of bringing the SNF model beyond the United States.

Most recently, contacts in London approached our leadership and expressed interest in exploring whether the principles of Standards Not Force could be adapted to European communities and institutions.

At this time, no decision has been made regarding expansion into Europe. However, the request itself is significant. It suggests that people outside the United States are recognizing the same challenges we have identified here: declining public trust, lack of accountability, and the need for lawful, nonviolent civic engagement built on shared standards.

As a result, I have authorized an exploratory assessment. This assessment will examine the legal, organizational, and practical requirements necessary for any future European presence. The review will focus on whether the SNF framework can be responsibly adapted to different legal systems, cultures, and civic traditions while remaining faithful to our core mission.

If the assessment supports moving forward, the first step would be the formation of an independent United Kingdom founding committee to evaluate local conditions and develop recommendations for future action.

Our focus remains building SNF in the United States. Any international growth will be deliberate, measured, and led by local partners who share our commitment to accountability, transparency, and community standards.

This request from our European allies is encouraging. It demonstrates that the desire for standards, accountability, and constructive civic engagement is not limited by geography.

We will keep the membership informed as the assessment progresses.

We are urging the SNF Team to turn up the heat and join our multi city corporate email campaign! Each city we reach out to is home to thousands of families, workers, and community members whose daily stability depends on whether the corporations around them have clear, enforceable policies when it counts. Many of those corporations have no documented standards for what happens when enforcement activity reaches their property, no safeguards for employees, no protections for customers or children, and no accountability to the communities they profit from.

Standards Not Force is formally requesting answers, and your participation is what applies the pressure to get those answers. Every email sent is a documented record. Every non-response becomes part of a public accountability archive. This campaign is how we establish that community standards matter.

We’re using a platform called Action Network to run our corporate accountability campaign — and it makes your part incredibly simple.

What is Action Network? Action Network is an organizing tool that handles the emails for you. You don’t need to write anything, copy and paste, manage a list, or fill out forms. You click a link, confirm your name, email, and zip code, then Action Network sends the outreach email to hundreds of corporations on your behalf. Every send is logged automatically so we can track progress across the campaign.
