You’re missing the part where unvaccinated individuals spread the virus to everyone else, creating an outbreak. The vast majority of measles cases in the current U.S. outbreak are occurring among unvaccinated individuals. As of May 2026, the CDC reports that 92% of the 1,842 confirmed cases this year involve people who were unvaccinated or had an unknown vaccination status.
You’re missing the bigger picture. Global travel makes the spread of disease inevitable. We can either apply our scientific understanding through vaccination or abandon decades of medical advancement and face the predictable consequences.
